And Mole, if you don't believe this possession hype obsession over possession stats dint start with Guardiola's Barca, then I don't know what to say.
For me, dominate a game=create more clear-cut chances to score goals. That's it.

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
I have no problem if Rijkaards achievements are lauded for a change.
I actually always found it very strange that his managing career went nowhere after what he did at Barca, and that noone seems to wonder what he's doing and why he isn't coveted for top jobs.
But I guess that's something to do with his personal life planning and not down to not having been considered or lack of opportunity.
But then this nonsense
When has Guardiola ever told people he's the best manager in the world and that's how he should be considered?
Are you going to blame HIM for people rating, hyping him and maybe going overboard with it?
Are you going to blame Messi for harmonica?
"Messi is a *bleep* self-obsessed maniac because he has fanboys terrorizing internet forums?"
LMAO pls go.
And, S, pls go too.
This ridiculous "but.. but.. he hasn't proven yet at a smaller club.. only takes big easy jobs.." argument is so incredibly idiotic and it doesn't get less so if it's being repeated.
Why is it ridiculously idiotic?
Because you're applying a standard you would not apply to others.
Imagine if Del Piero took over Juve now and won the CL twice in 4 years with them, along with the league and everything in breathtaking style. Then he gets offered the Barca job and takes it.
I want to see you Juve fans going "oh but Del Piero hasn't proven yet how good he really is, because he only takes easy jobs. Juve were already Champions and CL finalist the year before. And then the coward goes to Barca. I'll only rate Del Piero once he take Alimentazione Ricca di Calcio from Serie C to Serie B bla bla bla".
Same with Viva.

Hans u clown, u can gtfo too.
Never had a problem when he took the Bayern job.
But i'll be disappointed in him if he takes over City coz it's basically hopping from one best team in the league to another and receive ridiculous amount of praise for succeeding thr too.
It's like you are a lead actor working for a movie with best budget, best script, best director, best co-star, best cameraman.Naturally the movie is going to come out great (:

Madrid fans have more objectivity when it comes to Guardiola tbh.
What's funny? I talk fachts, not marketing, popularity and hype. Rijkaard actually TRULY built the team and did more ground work than Pep.
The one who took a team that couldn't finish beyond 4th place for 3 seasons in a row, had not won a La Liga title for 4 years, had not won a European Cup for over a decade, finished 6th the season before he took over, crashed out in the CL groups below Leeds United and turned that team into 2 times La Liga winners and CL winners who would gain such a reputation in Europe that Sir Alex Ferguson would park the bus at Old Trafford with his best ever squad was Rijkaard. Not Pep. Facht.
Pep took over a squad which had already tasted CL (and in Puyol's, Xavi's and Iniesta's case also European Championship) success but got at the end of its cycle and needed some tweaks. Getting rid of past it players (Deco, Dinho), adding a few key pieces (Pique, Busquets and Alves), bringing discipline and workrate and getting Messi to perform to his potential is actually not a whole lot different than what Enrique did who got rid of Cesc and phased out Xavi, brought in Bravo, MAtS, Rakitic, Suarez, brought back the pressing and got Neymar to perform to his potential.
Pep's big advantage is that he didn't take over a mediocre team like Roma and failed to work miracles (like any other coach in the world would've failed to do with Roma, certainly in 1 single season) before coaching Barca and that he plays Lahm as striker and Alaba as left wingstrikeback for the luls which makes him appear like a tactical genius to people who don't actually understand tactics and fall for such fraudulent doings.

Will praise him if he coaches Arsenal or even United for that matter.
He can overturn the fortunes of a club lacking in direction and he'll have a mega budget anyway.
Choosing the most well positioned big team in England I.e City=trophy stat padding as well as reputation padding.

Why does it make a difference lol? if he's already decided to leave, whether he wins or not is irrelevant at this point.

Yes. If I was a breakthrough lead actor, I'd tell my agent: "You know what? That's how I envisage the next step in my career: I want to play in some crappy movies now. If the Coen brothers or James Cameron call, don't take it.
I'd prefer to act in Roland Emmerich's next B movie, as the President of the Western Hemisphere who has to save the world by winning the rally Paris-Dakar with an electro Ferrari against an Alien Spaceship fueled by gas, if I lose the aliens will frack the world hollow and it will collapse.
Then I'd be interested in that part in M. Night Shymalans new project, as the allegedly mentally handicapped single dad who however is the only one who realizes garden fences are trying to imprison us by influencing our mind, in the end turns out hower the garden fences are actually our friends and were just trying to protect us from the evil pollen flying around outside.

It's not an exaggeration at all lol.
He's the only manager in the history of sport who people have this weird expectation that he must drop down and not take the best job available to him.
No one else has it, hell Ancelotti jumps from stacked team to stacked team but nobody says a word and there is many others.
I don't understand it personally but here we are.

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
Not relevant, no one asks any other manager to drop down. It's utterly ridiculous no matter how small it is.
Imagine if you asked someone you know you got this job offer? but there's this lesser job offer we think you should take because it's more of a challenge to your skills as a man?
Yeah right nobody does that you are living in some ridiculous fantasy world that only seemingly applies to one man.
It's just as ridiculous as the claims people used to make about Messi, " he should leave Barca to challenge himself and he's not the GOAT until he does so".

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
I'm fine with him taking over City. City's squad isn't that special. The best in England but certainly not by a country mile like his weekly challenges with Bayern against the mighty Hannover and Co. So he'll actually have to show some real coaching skills.

@Mole the funniest is when people go
Maldini is the best defender evah (:
Played for one club.
It's bizzare. Mourinho coached and won with all the biggest clubs in the world
No accusations about taking a lesser side.

Porto was still the best in Portugal, Inter had a monopoly on Serie A.

Big clubs and aren't a drop at all in terms of that, but what interest have they shown at him? At the moment it's seem only City are pursing him, the rest are rumours.
At the same time they don't seem to show much ambition either (not fans) but their clubs. Arsenal board seem to be happy with whatever they get and still don't look at the mistake United made. United still aren't recovering from Fergie.
With Pep I believe it's a project that he'd like to take on that matches his idea's.

Yes, I talked about CL , not leagues
On the other hand the matter about Guardiola here was born about he must win the CL to leave something of special in Bayern.
Do you think Mourinho would have been hyped at that time because he 'd won just 2 leagues ? Even I remind he wasn't better than Mancini
in that case even the Guardiola non-fans would have not much to say about him , because CL is always special.
