Re: Arsenal vs. Everton PL 2015/16
We are going to have to dig in this second half, we need to be up for the scrap. Delofeu and Lukaku are a hanful, Everton might want to attack a bit more which might open up more space for us so Ox and Sanchez better liven up and show something else in the second half because they have been very average so far.

even though ox lost the ball at such a stupid time, we shouldnt have conceded on the break like that.
more on ox, he's 22 now. needs to improve DRASTICALLY if he wants to stay at arsenal for much longer. a lot more better -22 year olds than him out there atm.

Ox has also been here for quite a few years as a part of the first team set up.
I am losing patience with him and Wilshere both.
Then again, Ramsey was 23 when he turned it around. As was Coquelin.
Gibbs meanwhile is 26.

He had a beast of a game, him, Cech, Ozil and Giroud were outstanding.

The team is finally learning the cognition to distinguish between styles when Giroud and Theo are up front.
Gonna be fun when Welbeck returns. Then again, someone else will get injured so meh.

For me Jack has showed that he has the ability to be a first teamer here, its all about avoiding injuries and staying fit. In their 20's the likes of Jack, Theo and Ramsey were all contributing to the first team and having an impact yet people were very critical of them. The fans have been very patient with Ox, he has to start delivering.

Re: Arsenal vs. Everton PL 2015/16
A game we needed to scrap out in the end and did so. We definitely made things more difficult for ourselves by conceding before half-time and not putting away at least one of our chances in the second half. You knew that, after the games we've had, we were going to tire late on, so it's pleasing we battled through the rest of the game and got the points.
Ozil and Giroud was both excellent. Alexis wasn't in the game that much. Chamberlain is going through a rough period at the moment and you could see how disappointed he was when he was taken off. He knows he's not playing well. It's also uncanny how he's always the one to lose the ball before the opposition scores.
Hopefully it's something consistent time on the pitch will remedy.
We're playing very well at the moment but the big worry for me is that we don't have enough fit attackers to rest Cazorla, Ozil and Alexis. I'm sure they'll sit out the COC game on Tuesday but after that it's Swansea away, Bayern away and Spurs home and you'd think there wouldn't be a lot of rotation going on. Then we've got to get through the busy Christmas period as well. It's going to put a strain on the players who are actually fit right now.
I think we'll see this team for the Wednesday game on Tuesday:
Macey; Debuchy, Chambers, Gabriel, Gibbs; Arteta, Flamini, Chamberlain; Campbell, Walcott, Iwobi

I dunno if i was you i would be happy that you just won tbh, in the past this is exactly the type of game after a big European win that you would have lost.
The fact you didn't is a good sign, i honestly i had huge reservations about you before today and didn't really trust you. Still don't to some extent in terms of winning the league but today answered a lot of questions i have.

Re: Arsenal vs. Everton PL 2015/16
The key difference maker for us now is Cech. The whole game ended up hinging on that save against Deulofeu in the 2nd half. I'm not sure Ospina or Szczensy make that save. What we're seeing more this season is that the mistakes we make at the back aren't being punished as often as they used to, because we've got such a good keeper to bail us out.
If there's an area we have to improve in as the season goes on it's chance conversion. Over 20 shots again today, but only a small number on target, and only two goals. Giroud hitting the bar, Ozil hitting the post, Flamini heading straight at Howard, the numerous headers from corners, etc. It's been happening all season. We've improved recently but you just know there'll be a game soon where we batter the opposition but don't score.

Our next 3 games are all away. With the last 3 games and the next 3, some serious focus and mental strength is required. And a lot of players will be in the red zone.

Gabriel and Cech saved our asses there in the last 10 mins of the game
So good to have 3 quality CBs for the first time in a long while, with one actually being world class.

Gabriel is the sort of defender we've longed for since the days of the famous English back four. Big, brutish, ugly ass mofo that isn't scared to stick his face into someone's boot to stop the ball from going into the back of the net

Re: Arsenal vs. Everton PL 2015/16
That was a little shakier than my nerves would have liked, but to be honest, Everton aren't a bunch of chumps, and a 2-1 victory is respectable. Their goal even had an element of luck to it as well. I really like how a lot of this Arsenal squad operates as a unit now.
It's painful to see Ox struggling so much though. Even when he goes on a really good run, you kind of expect him to turn over the ball at the end now. Or when he slides in a good cross to an open player, as he did at one point with Giroud, it's still not going to get a good connection - which isn't always his fault. Mojo just isn't there for this guy at the moment, and really he's a player I (and many of us, I think) want to see take his chances. Anyone who fully gives up on the Ox at this early stage is being premature - some players take until their mid-20s to really hit their peak - but it's definitely frustrating that he hasn't yet grown into what he has long looked like he could become.

Re: Arsenal vs. Everton PL 2015/16
Giving up on him is certainly premature, but I can understand people getting annoyed with him because this is his 5th season with us and he's the same player now as he when was a 17 year old.
But then, you look at Ramsey and Walcott, who were with us from 16/17, didn't improve a whole lot between then and 20/21, but then suddenly went to another level when they 23/24. Ox, and Wilshere for that matter, have plenty of time to do the same. It's just a case of getting that regular run of games and finding the necessary consistency.

I disagree about him being the same player. Freshly signed Ox wouldn't have skipped past the entire United team last season and set up Monreal
He's just going through a crap patch at the moment
