Liverpool have made an approach for Shakhtar's Alex Teixeira, according to BBC. They are willing to pay about £24.5m for him.

He's been great for Shakhtar, maybe he would be great in the Prem as well.

However, I'm not overly excited about constantly splashing the cash on new forwards. We just bought Benteke, Firmino and Ings last summer. £25m on Lallana before that. We've got Coutinho (and Sturridge). We've got Ibe, who really needs to play at this stage to develop his decision-making. I'd rather that the manager fixed the way we attack and got more out of the current lot than just buy another £20m-£30m forward every window, only to flop because our attacking tactics suck or are non-existent.

Caceres is quite solid, just injury prone- I don't think he would be a bad signing for Roma, personally. I would rather him stay, but if it means Rugani stays then I understand.

It would be kind of interesting. Wasn't Teixeira linked with Chelsea for a while? Meanwhile Pato was linked with Liverpool? Now Pato is signing for Chelsea and potentially Teixeira for Liverpool, aha.

Maybe a bit of payback for the Willian situation.
