Re: PSG appreciation thread
From an entertainment stand point i agree, but from a tactical stand point it's very impressive.
Playing with two strikers and 3 CMs yet still look fluid and play width is very impressive, it's not an easy thing to do at all. It basically negates the issue with using two strikers as they still have midfield control while having the threat.

Re: PSG appreciation thread
Like at Madrid with two strikers, di Maria compensates for a lot of the issues. Having Matuidi on one side and Di Maria on the other pretty much takes care of everything in both directions with the flanks. No other team has that or anything close.

Digging the soft core porn music weirdly enough for the vid. Anything is better than the EDM crap these vids are associated with.
Also, while it was against the mighty Malmo, it was really nice football to watch.

Just watched the video. Jesus that's impressive. Far better than anything you see in the PL. But then again someone mentioned let's see how they go about against Madrid, Bayern, Barca, Juve or Atletico

Re: PSG appreciation thread
So.... which team will knock them out in the quarterfinals this season?
Also, it's funny how teams like City and Chelsea get smashed for being plastic-oil-clubs, while PSG is every season being praised and considered a CL contender, while they are as plastic-oil clubs than Chelsea and City and so far less contenders (compared to Chelsea at least).
The only reason to this difference is that they play in a league (almost) no one cares in this forum, so people don't hate them. And the few frenchies, for some reason like them.

Re: PSG appreciation thread
some french fans like them because they're going to keep Russia from taking the third CL spot .
some non french fans like them because they play nicely .
not exactly hard to understand .

Re: PSG appreciation thread
What you see against Malmö is just what happens when Di María is playing very well. He's the one who associates the play on the right and coming inside to the centre. Matuidi and Verratti played very average matches -- the latter regularly conceding possession -- but Di María played the best performance I have seen from him in the last year.
I also thought that Ibrahimovic's presence impeded the team in the first half. Too many passes were directed to Zlatan when he was caught offside or in a poor position. But he still had many chances to score, but nothing yet.
I don't know where to find it, but I would love to see where and how many times Di María received the ball against Malmö. Not only was he decisive in the final third, but he was the standout player in the midfield.

Our very own Moal was the main man banging that drum. Every shit performance was excused with but but but he played CM for a few games that's his best position.farfan wrote:weren't people convinced that Di maria can't play on the right just few months ago ?

3rd most touches last night with 117. Verratti(147) and Motta(146) were respectively 1st and 2nd.Pippo wrote:What you see against Malmö is just what happens when Di María is playing very well. Re: PSG appreciation thread
Thanks.
Anyways, I don't think using a match against Malmö is enough to determine whether or not he can play well from the right side of midfield. Di María was excellent against Monaco when he was brought on, but he was also bad against Bordeaux last weekend.

Re: PSG appreciation thread
ADM is very predictable on the right. He will never change. It's the usual cut in and cross from him, he has better player next to him now though than when he had Khedira or Fellaini so when he gets closed down he can just pass it to Veratti whi can bail him out. That's why he did so well at CM for us, Marcelo on the left and Xabi/Modric on the right to help him out. I am not convinced he will do well on that right side imo, just a game ago he was very average against Bordeux on the RW
I guess we will see
ADM 117 touches on the right compare that to Bale whose average toucyes was around 15, we really would've won CL had ADM still been with us oh well

Attacking shape reminds me a bit of Barca 2011 tbh.
