Re: David Silva MIA in Europe one again
Ozil has been playing well he just doesn't have much to play with Giroud upfront is not sufficent.

Anyone with eyes knows that it is not Yaya Toures role in the Man City team the dictate the tempo of the game, especially with how high up the field he plays. Hell, a lot of the time you'll find Silva out wide so Yaya can have the AM role for himself to play from. He can not play CM against the top sides in Europe in this CIty team, how many times must this be shown?
David Silva does not get onto the ball, he does not make himself open to receive the ball and he does not utilize the space given to him by the presence of Aguero to do anything effective in these big games, that's why they usually just pass him by and you STILL can not name a single big game in which he shone.

yoyo is a big powerfull cm player. silva is a small tricky play maker. how on earth do you expect silva to do what he does when the city mf are getting taken out of the game. are you for real mate. do you think silva should run the game when the rest of the city team are getting out played.izzy wrote:Unique wrote:so you think its not the job of yoyo to to run the game from MF but you think silva should run the game when city are not getting the ball

Re: David Silva MIA in Europe one again
Not the point M99.
He just gets away with it every time he puts in a bad performance ( which is more than someone of his rep and hype would suggest)
The players Gil mentioned get shit everytime they put in a bad performance and hardly any hype when they put in a good performance.
Silva is the opposite he gets a fap fest every time he plays great and his bad performances are ignored and if someone brings it up excuses are made which other players don't get.

I see your point and agree with it but
All of those players are better than him yes and always have been.
This is not what I agreed with hence my previous post

You're blatantly not listening and sure as hell are not watching these games.
What the hell does Yaya Toures build have to do with the role he plays on the City team? He is NOT a CM. He barley plays there. He does not dictate the tempo of the team, he does not create a link between the defence-midfield-attack, neither does he sit in the midfield winning the ball back and initiating attacks. He does not do that.
I'm gonna just re-post what I already wrote about Silva for you to try and read again because you clearly have a problem with reading:

Re: David Silva MIA in Europe one again
but a big powerful player like yoyo should be doing more in the city mf than silva. yoyo has played as a dm player for barca. he has the size and power to dominate mf. yet he does nothing in the champs lge games. small play makers don't dominate games. silva does get on the ball. he does make space. and he does make great passes. but he cant do that if city are not getting the ball and are getting out played. over the last few years city have lost to some average teams. are you saying them bang average teams are to good for silva. to get your creative players into the game you need your mf to get on the ball and dominate the game. cm is the most important part of your team.izzy wrote:Unique wrote:yoyo is a big powerfull cm player. silva is a small tricky play maker. how on earth do you expect silva to do what he does when the city mf are getting taken out of the game. are you for real mate. do you think silva should run the game when the rest of the city team are getting out played.

Silva's a nice, humble, and down to earth guy. He keeps to himself and never causes any off-field controversy.
He hasn't done anything wrong to deserve this criticism. True football fans should always give him respect.
He is a great player to watch, neat and tidy on the ball .

However, this is a stupid trend around here.

City are rubbish in Europe, Yaya has looked awful (Bayern), Aguero has looked invisible (Barca), Kompany has been made to look a clown (Madrid)...you will have a hard time convincing everyone that ALL of City's players are bad. Its just the way it is, they cant do what they do in the PL in Europe for whatever the reason.
this!!!, I have been saying for a while now, its hard to take opinions on this forum seriously, when players can have similar performances, but the name on the jersey dictates if you get praised or bashed.
I have seen tons of awful games from hyped players, no comments or threads about it and as soon as they play good
"their so consistent, best in their position, how could anyone doubt, etc"
dumbest shit ever and thus a lot of opinions on the forum is shit.

Silva was excellent against Bayern (2013-14) and Dortmund (2012-13).

But I agree with the general point. City have a certain naïvete, and much of it has to do with their key players consistently underperforming.

Re: David Silva MIA in Europe one again
true. but the thing is for players like silva to play well the team has to play well for him. its the same with coutinho. if Liverpool are on the back foot and giving the ball away coutinho will not be in the game. but if Liverpool are playing well on the front foot he will be our best player. players like that are only affective when your in a game and on the front foot.Pippo wrote:But I agree with the general point. It's fine margins sometimes. If it wasn't for that Buffon double save on Sterling and Silva, we wouldn't have this thread.

Re: David Silva MIA in Europe one again
@GLS. Tbh, every player gets excuses, hell, i've seeing people excusing messi out of missing penalties or blatant bad decision sometimes, as if he needs the excuses or doesnt get enough praise. So its not common to just silva alone. We do it for every player, and speaking of which shouldnt we add aguero in the mix? Anyway silvas last good performance for city in the cl has been like 3 years ago, but then again, how many knockouts have they played against average teams? City might probably get barca again for all we know and doesnt help that they're always in tough groups too

Re: David Silva MIA in Europe one again
@ el gunner reading your opinions and considering them are 2 different things, posters like dani for example has no problem calling it as is, without the cynical bs, for example if dani said benzema was garbage, i know a well thought out reason is behind it, while the other 90% just following a trend and trying to be hip, which is fine and entertaining but, some has to pass it off as legit criticism, which again would be cool if you all approach every player the same, which is not the case which make most opinions shit fact.

Re: David Silva MIA in Europe one again
ok el gunner and so does everybody else on the internet, you want a cookie?
end of the day you know im right, a lot of footy fans are sheep and don't know shit about rating a good/bad performances.
that why when a hype player is meh, sheep line to talk about hunger, desire, talent, potential, aggressiveness etc, just skip over the fact that the player simply had a bad game/games.
I have seen isco play bad for 3 months straight, ask nick, val, hala, etc motm, every game right up until he got benched, why because they already started to hype him before he even joined, same with james started off meh=motm, kovacic is cool but since he is illarra replacement=everything he does is amazing just like lucas silva .
praising who is to be praised and hating who is supposed to be hated, that the extent of a lot knowledge on the forum and internet wide.

Pretty much this.
If not for some pretty big Buffon saves we wouldn't be talking about City being chokers either (even though I don't understand how a 2-1 loss to one of the biggest, best teams in the world is really choking).
