I've seen that his passing is pretty bad but I compared him with yaya since both have amazing physiques but don't make the most out of it. Pogba's workrate while nowhere near as bad as yaya's is bad, especially considering his body capabilities. all in all, I don't see him as a special player, midfielder, and for sure I wouldn't pay ~100m for him, especially when for much less you can get a much superior footballer like Gundogan for example if he reaches his 2013 level. that's what I call a world class midfielder. at the moment he wouldn't even start for us because Modric, Isco (who isn't even a given starter) and Kroos are better

About Pogba, we are not playing a 433 anymore, so how is he perfect for us? Unless you personally like him and want him to play for madrid, he doesnt fit what we currently do.

We're playing a 4231. The best mid profile for this setup is athletic B2Bs on each aide that can cover defensively and bring support to the attack. We don't have those profiles unfortunately but Modric is doing quite well. Not convinced Kroos can handle it however.

There is no "best" profile. Or at least, you will find people who disagree according to what they like.

That being said, i am not convinced Pogba can play the double pivot very well himself. Problem with that kid is that we do a lot of wishful thinking without any past experience that he has had suggesting he can handle it.

He's been handling it for 3+ years at Juve and considered widely as the best mid in Serie A last season... I think he's shown plenty. 2 games into this season, he's struggling because his attacking duo is Dynala/Mandzu and his midfield partners have been Padoin/Pereyra... And he's asked to play the 10, which is unnatural for him. I won't mention the fullbacks are geriatric Evra and Lichsteiner.

If we were going to ask him to play the 10 at Madrid, I'd agree with you.

Modric does more defensive work than Pogba. At least he has done in the last 2 seasons.

by the way, why are we talking about Pogba ? we've just signed one of the best midfield talents in the world in Kovacic, we will not buy the Frenchman, since we also have Isco, Kross and James who still have lots of seasons ahead of them.

Nothing is set in stones tbh. Griezmann unlike Aguero wants to play for us and I am sure will push for a move if we ever came calling. Atleti are just a stepping stones for these players unless they were born in Madrid. Arda Turan was begging to leave for 3 summers before Barca got him, Tiago and Luis left Madrid as quick as a lighting bolt the moment Chelsea came calling.

Griezmann wants to play though. There's no opportunity at Madrid for him. I think he ends up at one of the Manchester clubs or PSG.

For now no, he cant, but the assumption was that if we sell CR then we would need another attacker like him. In theory, if his season continues like it started (we are only in september), you would think that he is good enough. But he needs to become an outright stud because signing a player from atletico is a n yeah, nightmare that hasnt happened in years. Dont even see how it can happen if the player himself isnt paying his clause and half of madrid will turn on him... i personally dont see it happening

Lets be fair there is nothing Griezzmann does better than Ronaldo. Griezzmann's main strength is his goal scoring ability which Ronaldo is head and shoulders ahead its not even close.

If it was Selling Ronaldo for Hazard,i would be slightly interested.

It's not like signing Hazard would be any easier. Chelsea would probably bleed us lol
