No, I'd say every game before that was just as important as the last, because if you lost in the first game and its knockout, you're done. player a > player b in that one

only thing that has always been bothering me, is the assist thing.
You can't judge the individual player for his teammate messing up. If you create a sitter, and your teammate messes up, I think you should still get the credit. Very hard measure though.

there are many good assists that had been wasted thats
made some average playmaker almost equal to some great playmaker nowadays
