Is there a clear favorite in the CL next season ?
I dont know.Barca,Bayern and Real the three big contenders are under new coaches. So are outsiders like Man United,City,PSG and Chelsea with only Juventus and Dortmund having not changed coaches.Do you think its a genuine factor to consider going into next season's competition ?

Wouldn't say 'clear' favourites, but Bayern for me are the favourites with Dortmund and Barca behind them followed by Juventus and perhaps Chelsea.

Madrid has to be there. PSG.... let's wait until November to give a verdict.

Not currently. If Bayern didn't have a new coach, then they probably would have been favourites.

Re: Is there a clear favorite in the CL next season ?
No clear favourite but i still would have Bayern above all else.
Barca depends on CB issues and whether the new manager can bring back defensive organisation and pressing.
Offensively i expect them to be much better this year regardless.
I also expect Dortmund and Madrid to be there or there abouts same as last year.
Also expect City and Juventus to be better this year, Juventus did as well as they could last year but i do expect improvement and City can't really get any worse

Don't write off Bayern just because they have a new coach.

Re: Is there a clear favorite in the CL next season ?
So the answer is clearly NO.Its very unlike previous years where Barca,Madrid and Bayern were runaway favorites.
I think anybody out of the top 8 teams could win it IMO.Even CL underachievers like City have a chance.
Also Tom ,we're 90% certain of being in Pot 3.We'd need a lot of results to go our way in the qualifying rounds and i'd say its highly unlikely we see that.
And also i'd rather be in Pot 3 than 2.Pot 3 have a lot of tough teams if you havent noticed. Its stronger than Pot 2.

I don't think Bayern will win the CL again, but you definitely can't write them off. Not with that squad.

Also people are acting like Dortmund raped them
Bayern were on top for long periods of that match and created more than enough to win.
Bayern will be there at the end, without a doubt.

Re: Is there a clear favorite in the CL next season ?
This is hardly a knee-jerk thread..I was asking this question myself few weeks ago considering more than half of the European elite have changed coaches.
Guardiola is obviously trying to implement something different from Heynckes' side.I would say it would take some time for adapting but yeah even i agree they will be there at the end but like its been said i dont see them as a clear favorite next season.(Although they do hold a slight edge over other teams)

Not saying anything against you Surag i agree with you.
I'm saying the people who think Bayern are suddenly not going to be a factor now.
Besides they played well yesterday, especially without half of their best eleven.
So the reaction from some confuses me a bit.

depends if teams develop into super teams... where you can't really find a flaw. Won't know that until Nov imo. Bayern did that last year.

Completely agree and this sort of thing is almost impossible to predict.

If Man City win the CL this season i'll draw a rough sketch of their badge on a £5 note and eat it.

Re: Is there a clear favorite in the CL next season ?
I think Bayern are far and away the favorites here. But that's hardly a guarantee that they will win as favorites never seem to win this competition, and no one has beaten the CL two seasons in a row under the new format. I think they made an error by not bringing in a class CB but they still have the best squad and best coach.

Bayern and Dortmund are clear favorites the other teams must play perfect football to beat these two teams!

I think Juventus are going to be dangerous with their new attack. They were already doing really well with shoite forwards.
Can't see Bayern winning again but I do see them as a lock for the semi-final.
City won't get past the round of 16.

Don't expect too much from us yet. We'll probably be in Pot 3 again unless miracalously arsenal, milan and schalke all fail to win their play offs. in b4 group of death again.

I think the same faces will reach the later stages. Which team is able to get into "Win Mode" by the semis is still up for debate imo.
So yeah I actually think the last eight will be similar to last year.

Re: Is there a clear favorite in the CL next season ?
In my opinion, there shouldn't be favourites. There were always about 10 clubs with real chances to win the trophy.
That's why the competition remains spectacular even after decades since it was organised for the first time.
Mystery and unknown...those are the key words.
