Stoke agree fee of €17m (£12m) with Inter Milan for Xherdan Shaqiri. #SSNHQ

What the actual? Shaq could be starting for many top sides and he decides to join STOKE?

At the moment all that's been reported is an agreement between the sides, I don't think Shaq has agreed terms with Stoke himself, nor do I think he'll be too keen to. If Inter are willing to sell him then I'm sure he'll be able to attract better suitors who will be alerted now to the possibility of signing him.

Pisses me off so much seeing all these PL clubs dropping 17m euros like it's nothing ( because it is) and we act like the TV deal never happened.

#Cuadrado-#Inter- SKY Italia reports there is now growing optimism that a deal will closed in next few days (on loan with obligation to buy)

SKY Italia also reports that there are tons of rumors about '#Pogba-Barca agreement' but the reality is that #Pogba will stay at Juventus.

Why would he even go there to play in that fodder league.

It would be a step sideways anyways and would make the least sense :coffee:

Hopefully he goes to Madrid or City or PSG if he leaves. Can't stomach seeing him play in any other team especially for those Catalonian twats.

Because that's the agreement... that he will stay at Juventus and join Barca next summer.

Wonder how much more worse its going to get when the new tv deal kicks in.

And yet Premier League only gets worse in Europe... how is that possible?

Eh most of those teams will never be in Europe, how is that relevant?

Sure but PL having more money and improving generally should mean that top PL teams should do better too. Its 7 teams that go to european competitions, not 2.

I'll have him in a heartbeat at Milan, thanks. I doubt Shaqiri will agree to such a move in any case.

Wait a second there... didn't Inter just sign Shaqiri? Why the f would they sell him now?

I know that but when most of these conversations come up it's about the shit sides getting players they really shouldn't.

When it comes to CL standard level players everyone has money so it doesn't have as big a impact.

It was a sarcastic joke to do with the fact we don't spend money and just get profit every year.

Barca Reject Fabregas to Chelsea,
Barca reject Sanchez to Arsenal
Madrid reject Di Maria to ManUtd

where as Suarez to Barca
Pogba most likely to Barca

I doubt top EPL teams are attracting the elite among the WC players

That's my point.....

The money only has an impact with getting the standard below for relegation clubs.

For Champions League teams they all have money so it means nowhere near as much and not really relevant to European success.

He's a bit too expensive for us anyway, if the reported wage demands are any indication. Double the wage of our veteran top earners for a 22 year old, doubt that's feasible.

Can only be Barca, United, Chelsea, City or Real. Pretty sure it will be Barca in 2016.

Well that's true and I agree, but teams 3-7 in EPL are way more loaded than in any other league. They should be doing better than 3-7 from Spain, France, Germany... and lately they are not, the opposite.

Selling Shaqiri for under €20m ffs . Hopping off the bandwagon if he's sold. Hopefully Shaq rejects them.

that's because having money to buy expensive players doesn't make it necessary to think about how to get a good team working without money for expensive players.

What gets forgotten is that you can buy good players, you can't buy a good team.

Well i agree but we all know why that is, the coaching in England is sub par outside a few select teams. Also i'm not sure Spurs for example are better than Sevilla they maybe more expensive but quality doesn't always equal expense.

Liverpool are on the verge of completing the signing of Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, according to talkSPORT’s man on Merseyside.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the powerful Belgium international in recent weeks and our Anfield insider Graham Beecroft claims a deal is now imminent.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, he said: "My understanding is Christian Benteke, who has been on their radar for some time, is very close indeed to signing for Liverpool.

"I expect him to sign if not today then certainly in the not too distant future. Liverpool have done their work and have sealed a deal [with Aston Villa]."
