I feel like we have done this? But I dont remember it and I cant seem to find it.

I will just do La Liga, feel free to add any of your own.

Agreed with your team but I would do Modric instead of Kroos. The minute Modric gets injured Madrid go from being potential best team in the world to just another team. Especially with Carlo's reluctance to play Khedria or Illaramendi, there was a very strong Modricdependencia this season.

Yea agreed with BC. Kroos was found out when Modric got injured. Can't even remember him doing anything in the big games Madrid lost.

Gaya > Marcelo and Modric in ... otherwise same team

is Krychowiak really playing that good ?

it's amazing how he made the jump from a modest Ligue 1 club to a top 5 spanish club and managed to succeed in his first season .

Dont know, what if Kroos got injured and it was Modric left alone with rubbish? Feels like rewarding Modric for being injured.

Krychowiak was great in the EL final. I kind of regret not watching more of Sevilla this season. He was really good against Barca as well at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

If Modric was fit for whole season then i would have picked him. Rakitic was fantastic all season specially lately.The amount of defensive work he does is just amazing, although he is no Xavi but he is still fantastic.Very under rated player.

Ivanovic: RB quality in the Prem isn't great right now. Ivanovic is basically a 30+ center-back playing right-back and he is starting to look defensively vulnerable in that role. Still, a shrewd defender who also provided a few goals and assists again this season.

Fonte: I felt I had to name someone from Southampton, only one more goal conceded than Chelsea. Could have been Clyne at right-back, Bertrand at left-back, Fonte or Alderweireld at center-back or Schneiderlin at DM instead of Matic. Went with Fonte, but just wanted to recognise Southampton collectively.

Cresswell: Had an excellent debut season with West Ham.

The rest of the team pretty much chooses itself, imo.


Ps. A non-CL version of Team of the Year could be perhaps more interesting

James should be in there IMO, he has been the best attacking midfielder in the league, Pique too should be there. Suarez, Bravo, Alba, Modric.... all have a shout. But then the team would be mostly Barça/Madrid, but it's like it has been, two teams above the rest.

Considered all these things, but then who goes out. For James to come in, which of Messi, Griezmann, Neymar and Cristiano is going out?

Pique for Godin, possible...but the start of the season he was looking a little iffy, which was probably why he was benched.

Suarez missed too many games when you consider the other world class options.

Griezmann goes out. Hames was much better.
