I like Ronaldo, but if RM were to sell him/let him go and move Bale to the left they would be a better team I think -- though I still think they'll need to do a bit more rotating.
Bale - Benzema - Rodriguez
Isco
Modric - Kroos

I have a feeling this team would be even better... Oh wait, that's right. Our best football was played with this line-up.
Bale can be very good if everything's suited to his style. But he doesn't fit in with the five other attackers. Even though Ronaldo's passing technique isn't world class, it's still miles ahead of Bale. The position isn't Bale problem, it's his technique. If Ronaldo were to leave I'd want a type like Neymar or Hazard who has great technique on ball and can pass. Which is two quaities Bale does not posses even a small fraction of.

The 442 was the best by far. Bale should go and Madrid should get veratti as a modric understudy replacement. Of they can keep that then they will be good because CRs lack of defending wasn't an issue. It's when you have a 433 or 442 with no ball carrier or mf cover hen issues arise. I'm curious to see what Madrid does next season tbh.

Ronaldo has never been important to Madrid imo. He'll score a hatrick when RM are dominant offensively and the midfield is ticking but when they need that moment of inspiration he's never there.
Where was he when Modric was injured?

I Forgot James wasn't injured then.
What i'm trying to say is that Ronaldo lacks the influence in games to be a truly important player for you guys.He scores because the team goes out of its way to help him score. He was brought to Madrid to be their answer to Messi They wanted a superstar poster boy for their team.
But What RM failed to realize was that Messi wasn't the world's best player because he could score 40+ goals a season, he was the best because he could take a game by the scruff of it's neck and dominate if needed to. Manita is the perfect game to summarize Messi's talents. He didn't score a single goal but he was the conductor of the Barca orchestra during that glorious night.
CR7 on the other hand thought the opposite and decided to kill the creativity in his game so he can focus on beating Messi to the Pichichi. . Man U benefited more from selling Ronaldo than Madrid ever did.

After Falcao and Aguero phrase, someone is trying to imply that Cristiano is not an important player to us . besides that he is the dude is also saying that Utd got better after Ronaldo left whereas they spent 80% of that 94m to buy freaking Di Maria

CR is an important player as far as helping us crush scrubs teams with little effort. When it's time to play the big teams though, he hardly looks like a top 2 player in the world... just saying. Those are games where collective is above everything, and CR looks very average in those contexts

Dat Ferguson importance.
Don't fall for the Madrid propaganda. No top team needs a player to score 40+ goals a season. Especially when said player is in a position that requires both offensive and defensive work-rate. of which he provides neither. Marcelo works overtime to keep the LW area relevant because CR think scoring goals is more important than giving adequate balance to the team.
Six years, 222 goals and £80 million later Madrid have nothing to show. Daylight robbery I tell ya .

Re: "You (Cristiano) can't score your petty goal, and forget about the rest." - Ramos
we do have a CL to show, and a liga trophy...
not sure, but im pretty certain that a CL is kind of hard to win
anyway, i agree with your earlier point that majority of madrid fans have bought into the propaganda that without CR scoring his 60+ goals per year, we wouldnt be relevant.
Football is a little more complicated than that, as proven by all the teams that have taken us out in CL, and that do not have such prolific scorers, Dortmund, juve, bayern...

Yohan Modric wrote:Thing is, whoever we sign to 'replace' Ronaldo doesn't need to be as a good him in terms of overall ability and goal output. Let's say we did sign Falcao, why does it matter if he's not as good as Ronaldo? Fact is he'd be surrounded by World class players on the pitch, which means he's bound to succeed.
We don't need someone scoring 300 goals and 50 hattricks a season to win trophies. I mean for all the goals Ronaldo has scored in the 6 years he's been at the club, we've only managed to win 2 major trophies.
so what makes you think that with a much inferior player in Falcao we'll manage to win more ?

Re: "You (Cristiano) can't score your petty goal, and forget about the rest." - Ramos
Well it's not really about player quality, it's about the team becoming more balanced with Ronaldo gone. Our attack would no longer be built around him. It would be a collection of players who are of similar status and quality. Hazard, Aguero, Reus, James, Falcao, Isco etc. There's no one there that'll expect the team to built around them and to be constantly fed in the same way Ronaldo does currently. Having a more balanced team allows us to play in different ways imo.

is the team really built around ronaldo? probably can see some of that element in mou 4231, but i dont see much of it in recent 2 seasons.
if u are referring to ronaldo wanting everybody to feed him, we just have to switch back to that fluidly team and he cant find any excuse for wanting extra privilege in it, hence he just played along, seen it 1st half of the season. much more dangerous player imo when he's unpredictable.

Re: "You (Cristiano) can't score your petty goal, and forget about the rest." - Ramos
yes it is. the reason why we play 442 is because he is complete shit in defensive phases so carlo had to find a way to get the other guys in position to defend accordingly. in mou's 4231, he was way too much of a liability. with carlo a lot less since Di Maria last year, and Isco were doing the running for him.terrance511 wrote:is the team really built around ronaldo? probably can see some of that element in mou 4231, but i dont see much of it in recent 2 seasons.

But if you have a guy running twice as much as he should to cover for CR, how is he supposed to be great in offensive phases?
He is the one player around whom the team was engineered, both in defensive phases, and in offensive phases since he pushes out karim out of the box and looks to finish.
You can make the argument that 442 would have worked if not for our injuries and lack of rotation, with Modric-Kroos-isco-james we were playing brilliant. Bale did lack positional sense to help the midfield without di maria, so it hurt us this season.
In form that set up was great, it would have been interesting to see what a team set up like that with proper back up could have achieved with better management. although i should say, i wouldnt bet on any team with a front 2 like CR-Benz who suck so much off the ball in defensive duties. Not to mention how much they limit the way you can organize your midfield to vary the play.
But with Bale, it doesnt work. Gotta make some decisions, Bale and Cr in the same team doesnt work. Accumulating players like pokemon doesnt always yield balance and results.
but obviously, we wont make the hard choice and continue with both.

Ronaldo and that's pretty obvious. I think people underestimate the power of some Spanish players like Ramos.. These guys are iconic and emblematic for the club, something Ronaldo will never have with the fans.

Not necessarily. The thing is that, as jibers said, the Bernabeu loves Ramos. They value heart, passion and dedication more than anything.

What did he do exactly? Befriend with a Barca player? ... the Bernabeu value my ass, Iker has fought for them for so many years and they treated him like a pair of socks that can be easily replaced and thrown away.
