It's not just Americans. A lot of "Serie A fans" are doing this too.

For CL cofficient and league relevancy that makes sense, Juve victory is beneficial to the whole Serie A

La liga is the best league in the world atm, or at least perceived that way. A Barca win or loss changes nothing.

Also it should be mentioned that nationalism also plays a part. Barcelona is Catalonia not Spain. So another reason why majority of Spain would not root for them. Juve always been a team consisting of Italians, and has been major contributor to the NT.

Talk to Robespierre. Actual Italians living in Italy not Juve fans are all wearing their Barca jerseys. At least their direct rivals are.

Juventus don't look like scoring and Barcelona look like they have at least one more gear they're not using yet, but only one goal in it at half-time, so, you never know...
