Re: Bale for Sale
I cannot emphasis anymore of the fact that he is not a legend. Most he'll be considered is the tier just below legendary but he isn't a legend. Though PL fans would mouth that off for a while despite watching, at most, 7 Madrid games all season.

Re: Bale for Sale
So much hate for Bale for not wanting to leave because of a Great paying contract...
... when that SOB Kaka, who wasn't even half the player for Madrid than Bale is today for Madrid, kept collecting cheques, and didn't give a crap for the team or playing at all...
yet none of you were giving him hate the way you are giving Bale the hate.

Kaka always gave it his all for the shirt. I feel bad for him because he really tried. And he never complained and kept fighting for his spot. Polar opposite to bale.

Two completely different situations. For 1) Kaka was making less than half of what Bale is making (6m v 15m). 2) Totally different mentalities- Kaka had injuries issues but still gave it his all and never once complained when he wasn't starting. Bale is injured constantly then when he is fit if he doesn't start right away he moans to the media. When he does play he just walks around and sucks.
Bale's line of credit with me burned up a long time ago. This season, he is either injured or walks around, or moans to the media. For 15m per year literally anyone can do a better job.

Re: Bale for Sale
As much as I like Zidane and this makes sense for the club going forward, bale has done a lot and deserves a proper send off don't care what Zidane says, when you're playing freaking marcelo and isco but not bale gtfo, I feel bad for the guy never really got along with teammates don't blame him though, a lot of the players are douche bags like marcelo who want to out him in media and damn ramos taking penalties when he know bale need the goals, more than he does what a leader .
the real reason he is getting sold is his injury problems that fair, but don't need to treat the guy like crap when asensio of the world still getting playing time after the things he said to media caring more other players money than performing in games.
Don't know why some fans get off on this stuff, it's pretty poor form Zidane especially how shit his son is as a keeper and still wants to give him opportunities he doesn't deserve, but crucial player like bale can't get a 5 min cameo nonsense.

Re: Bale for Sale
bale leaving early and playing golf instead of losing with the team consigned him to his fate. his pompous butt got what he deserved .truly disappointing what bale has become.
Re: Bale for Sale
tbh i don't know nor care too much about the curtain call/ovation thing. i mean it seems a little two faced, no? if the crowd boo'd you all year, then last game of a pathetic season that everyone would like to forget and probably your last, you get some sort of ovation? if i'm bale i'm not sure i would want that. i was whistled all year and now i get some crap ovation cos i'm leaving? it seems more like a good riddance thing
the whole ovation thing is overblown to be honest. the crowd never really got attached to bale, so i don't see a big need for an ovation. it just seems two faced to applause someone you whistled all year, and it would be cruel to also whistle someone in their last game. which was a possibility as well; even maldini was boo'd in his last game by milan fans. in before the "madrid fans are the cause of global warming" crusade rears their heads
for right or wrong, there was very little attachment between bale and that crowd for an ovation to be a pressing topic of discussion. knowing the bernabeu crowd, one might even say he dodged a bullet. remember, during bale's presentation at the same stadium, there where ozil chants. and the relationship has deteriorated badly since that time

Re: Bale for Sale
@Tito you give a send off to a player that you know is leaving. It means there have been discussions and all parties have agreed that a transfer out works best for everyone. So you leak it to the press like we did for Keylor and he gets a chance to be ovationed by the crowd in the last game. Every player will receive a warm send off regardless of how the season went.
If this has not happened for Bale, it's imo because there is agreement on transferring him. He and his agent have made it known to the press that he is not leaving, while Zidane is trying to make him understand he is done with him...

Re: Bale for Sale
that's true too, (about the player and club agreeing for it) and i was going to post that as well, but something threw me off. if the players agent has come out to say the player doesn't want to leave (even if the player really does), then what the hell is the ovation for. another reason why if i were bale i wouldn't want it. and i really don't think he cares for an ovation. more than the ovation he probably just wanted to play since he's not injured, as he usually is.

Re: Bale for Sale
Nobody is going to pay Bale the wages... He makes 15 mil euros net. That's going to be a HUGE sticking point and a reason he may stay with or without playing time.

Meh fair play to bale. 600,00 a week in Madrid. If no team can match his wages fair play to him.

Re: Bale for Sale
How a one-footed 29 year old gimp who has lost his finest asset and has not been relevant for over a year, gets so much attention here is beyond me.
Bale is not good enough for a top club and never really was for Real Madrid let alone now.
Cut the losses of this entitled peon as he is latching on like a leech and simply causing Zidane a major headache.
Sell him to Bala Town.

Bale is worth like 35m nowadays with his injury record
nobody is going to take him either
I think we should do Bale for Sanchez swap deal

Re: Bale for Sale
Well there is couple things going for Bale that makes his transfer not as impossible as many of you believe.
1) Lack of Left footed wingers. Although there are many, there is obviously lack of left footed right wingers who could cut in and make a difference, Teams like Bayern and even United could do.
2) if RM sold him for less, the buying club could meet his wage demands, by spending less on the transfer, and allocating those funds towards paying for his wages over the years... given that that club doesn't have a rigid wage cap in place.
so if he was sold for 65 mil, instead of 100, that extra 35 mil could be used by the buyer club to pay towards Bale's wages.

Re: Bale for Sale
Nobody is paying more than 35-40M for Bale in 2019. Nobody he would move to, anyway.
Madrid will price themselves out of selling him. He will be on loan until his contract is up, I bet. See him at United in that scenario, or Juve, or Bayern.

Re: Bale for Sale
I think we need to bite the bullet and agree to some sort of severance package that compensates Bale for the salary he'll lose for a new team.
He's not gonna play anymore, he's got a contract. Would be ideal for our club and the player to move on, but it's not fair to force Bale to continue sitting on the bench when we gave him the contract. I'm sure there's a fair deal to be made and his insistence on returning is just a negotiation tactic.
