We love him to death etc pp but it would be really nice if he weren't NT coach anymore. A stained reputation would be the cherry on top.

According to Squawka stats Horn is the best young keeper in the world. :coffee:

It's true, Freiburg is a far away from DDR as you can get..
Also, this myth of the 'clean' BRD sports in contrast to the socialist dopers is a fairy tale that is a product of cold war, and later Siegerjustiz mentality.

West Germans like to tell themselves they are the only ones not doping, I can remember very well the holier than thou stances until the bicycling scandals finally caught up to Team Telekom lol.

I'd add though that there's a lot more we'd have to apologize to the Ossis for, what with now being the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Treuhandanstalt..

Timo Horn is indeed a pretty good young keeper, alongside Loris Karius. Of course they are underrated as they play for somewhat underrated clubs.

By the way, if you show the Squawka stats for keepers for all ages, look who's number 1 and of course number 2: http://tinyurl.com/oumjaxd   :coffee:

You should have gone for him much earlier. It's not that I'm not telling everybody that Yann Sommer is great for more than three years now here at GL... :coffee:

Schalke 2:0 Hoppenheim so far. Max Meyer and Kaan Ayhan are allowed to play, and the team looks better right away.

hey Dortmund hasn't lost in 5 league games now, 4 of which they won. Why you crying NOW of all times Laughing

Their record against Hamburg in recent years had been terrible, even when they were in form.

Extract from the kicker live ticker

Geis feuert den fälligen Freistoß aus rund 25 Metern aufsetzend links in die Ecke, Sommer sieht dabei nicht allzu gut aus.

Well, Yann Sommer made *one* mistake. When it happens to a goalie, it is unfortunately a goal for the opponent. I won't count the numerous mistakes the strikers make when not scoring. After all, Gladbach easily could have gone up 3:1 right after that goal but Kruse didn't score. :coffee:

(And it just looked as if that freekick wasn't really a freekick in the first place, so the original mistake was actually the referee's Razz)

Yes but BVB is still in 10th place.. I was secretly hoping for a 15 game winning streak..

Guess a 15 game unbeaten streak is the next best thing silent

I'm thinking of using that Sommer line as my 'Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam' from now on.

Examples:

It's absolutely ludicrous to expect Dortmund to go on a 15 games winning streak; it's not just pure bad luck they lost so many games in the first place.
They need to keep working hard with a relegation battle mindset, as that's the mindset that made them win games in a row at last, while still looking with one eye at CL qualification did them a disservice. Sommer sieht dabei nicht allzu gut aus.

Alonso is now banned for the next league game AND the CL game against Shakhtar. Seeing how bad he looked in the games since winter break, I think that may be a blessing in disguise, and Sommer sieht dabei nicht allzu gut aus.

Hans: "Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam" is a demand directed at the senate of Rome, while your Sommer statement is just an empty statement meant to troll me. :coffee:

Lukas Kruse got hit by the ball in the head and looks unconscious o_O  Not a good weekend for keepers. Ah, he's standing again. Good. I just hope he's really fine.
