Well, in the CL messi only assisted 3 of neymars 10 goals (against Ajax, buyern and psg Qf) and messi only scored in 1 knockout game out of a possible 7 against buyern in the CL.
So how bout neymar and Suarez goals for the CL win started making messi relevant in the ball on d'or standings again, after being dominated by cr7?
And how bout, messi has 7 goals and 7 assists in 22 matches in international tournaments ( 3 CA, 2 WC) vs

About goals it was messi who beat a.madrid in final game.bilbao in copa final. City and bayern. He was the man of the match in all important games. Scoring 1 vs 1 or tapin doesnt make neymar better player. Neymar is lucky he plays on left wing and all messi diagonal passes puts him face to face with goalkeeper. Neymar should do same for messi and suarez but he doesnt or cant make diagonal passes like messi

If Brazil does not win the tournament, this will remain the same, Neymar will fight for the third place. Winning the Copa and a great start of next season can only make him contender for the 1st, which i believe is very much possible though. the guy always gels with NT.

The only way he can win it if messi gets injured like he did in 2013. But then there is CR who will activate his statpad instinct and will score hat trick 1 day before voting. So neymar has very little chance to win it.second or third is possible

Ronaldo was in ridiculous form in the first part of the season while Messi was struggling. Then Ronaldo's form declined a bit after January when Messi went on an amazing run

Also Argentina probably has the best team on paper in this tourney by a fair margin. Whether they actually play to that level is another question. Neymar definitely has a history of raising his game for international play and if they can field a healthy team Brazil could surprise and win on the back of Coutinho ( ) and Neymar.

Since I'm too lazy to google is Suarez going to be playing at all? I still think teams like Colombia and Uruguay could surprise because of their individual talents.
