Why would Lucho put the shortest, slowest possible team out there? Especially considering he hasn't played Iniesta on the wing all season. I don't believe that line up.

Busi has been great, what are you on? He's made a few nice tackles and disrupted a few of Madrid attacks.

Enrique has been out smarted in both big games against PSG and now Madrid. He needs to get his sh!t together.

Alves and Alba also made things difficult against PSG and Pique against Madrid, but still.

Madrid went down they kept attacking finding ways and new ideas. We go down we simply don't think anymore and try the same old ideas.

How no one was marking Pepe is beyond me as well. Taking Suarez off who was better then Iniesta, Messi and to an extent  Neymar is another questionable answer.

We only had played good for the first 20-30 minutes.

The entire team as a defensive unit failed. No pressing, no tracking back. I expected Mathieu to slot in as a third centre-back when we had the ball to provide some cover, but he was basically lingering on the left touchline the entire match. Can't blame him though.

Not a good game from Neymar and Messi. Both of their work rate sucked. Grown to except that from Messi. Suarez had a decent debut. He seems like a good fit. Looking forward to seeing what more he can offer.

After Rakitic came on the crosses started flying in again from Alves. Rakitic only sees Alves as an option when has the ball. Takes no risks.  Not enough balls through the middle. Not enough shots from outside the box.

Messi's miss and Pique's stupidity really changed the game.

Bravo - didn't do anything special all 2/3 of the goals were really unstoppable and the last goal very unlikely any keeper would stop it
Alves - so many people last year put the blame on alba being bad defensively.. this guy is terrible he is an absolute horrible right back, never there when you need him, stays forward when we are getting countered
Pique - worst player in the pitch by far, truly not good enough to start for us
Mascherano - good on the ground, but gets easily overpowered in the air should probably play dm for us
mathieu - was again our most consistant defender, not good enough in attacking to play left back tbh should of taken pique's spot.
Buscuit - had two good tackles in the midfield but other then that him trying to mark ronaldo was hilarious, got out paced so many times, didn't really offer anything to the team
Xavi - shouldn't of been subbed off he had an average game
iniesta - horrible game AGAIN only one good game from him all season was against ajax
neymar - had no real service good job on the goal
messi - had good movements, had the most touches in the first half and was aggressive but didn't look like 100% there he wasn't as individual as he usually is
suarez - assist but no matter what did better then what would of happened with pedro
rakitic - didn't offer anything else should of been subbed in for iniesta not xavi

I blame Messi for not scoring an absolute sitter when we were winning. That could have easily sealed the points for us.

Pique is a complete scrub and should not start in any big game for us this season, period.

Also, what the hell was Iniesta thinking giving the ball away like that for their 3rd goal? Never seen him have such a brainfart moment.

Game just confirmed that the guy is a clueless idiot.Tata was far better.
So lets give away the wings against the team with one of the most lethal wing attacks in the world.
Lets play 3 forwards up top who will neither press nor track back.Lets leave our fullbacks to be double teamed all game long.All their chances(apart from the counters on setpieces) came from the wings when the fullback was double teamed.
Poor Alves had to deal with Marcelo and CR all on his own.
I mean did Enrique really think that by just asking Suarez to stay out wide right,Marcelo wasnt going to join in on the attack.
And if after,5 min it was clear that his stupid plan wasnt working,why the hell didnt he ask Suarez to track back?

On the players,only Xavi,Alves,Bravo and Neymar can hold their
heads up high.Rest were atrocious.Pique is not good enough for relegation teams let alone us.And I dont know whats gottne into Busquets.Guy has been poor for the past 12 months or longer.Tries fanciful tricks looking for fouls and gets picked everytime.
Messi was woeful.I mean poor play can be excused but lack of effort cant be.3-1 down you look to your cpatain for inspiration.
And yet our captain( after Iniesta was subbed out) was busy walking around as if he owned the pitch.

No he was not at fault for 2 goals.Enrique was at fault leaving Alves to be double teamed.
Dont care if you are prime Maldini.Cant deal with a winger and a forward all on your own.Look how Madrid defended.2 blocks of four.With ISco and James covering the fullbacks.
Now compare that to the support Alves got.
Dont know what game you were watching but the one I was watching,Alves played well.

And our fullbacks always join in on attacks.The counters came from woeful setpieces.Nothing Alves could do.
The blame lies entirely on Enrique.Either you press high and win the ball early or you ask the forwards to track back and defend.
You cant defend with 7 players(6 and a half as xavi is not very good) against a team like Madrid.It will always leave one of the wings exposed against a good wing team and thats excatly what happened.Same thing happened in the WC final when Sabella inexplicably decided late on in the game to change from 2 blocks of 4 to 3 up top who dont defend.
Argetina paid the price then and we paid the price today.

Aside from Messi's work rate dropping, it seems also his finish has suffered. Seems like he misses allot of opportunities he would put away easily back in the day. Not sure what to make of it
