I don't see it as a bad thing. Younger players that need game time will get to play, and the more important match against Chelsea will have our best players well rested.

Why are people complaining? It's not like it's a huge drop in quality anyway. Most people would say our team is probably better with Gerrard, Johnson, Lovren and Balotelli on the bench. Only Sterling will really be a big miss in terms of quality downgrade (for Markovic).

Meh can't see a thrashing. IF liverpool lose then it won't be by more than 3 goals at best.

Feel bad for Markovic. There is a chance he might show his potential tonight and cause Madrid problems but if Madrid are in the mood, then it's a really bad match for him to be in. He already is in poor confidence and this match potentially could deteriorate it further
