Honestly sooooo wish we kept him last season when we won the title, that was the only thing he's missing- a league title. Hopefully athletico can win the title, then he will be known as the guy who won everything on club and international level Proud

this season was even more painful than all of torres's chelsea misery plus the open net that torres missed against man united. He was mostly horrible for us, but he gave us too many proud moments- and I'd say he was more magical than any of our current crop this season (besides willian because he came through during the first half of this season).

He's 32 but looks very fit. Should be interesting to see where he can get a new contract from. I'm sure he'll have takers in Europe, but could easily see a China move for him if he wants just money, I'm sure they'd love a big name player like him.

I get what you're saying, but just look at that clip. It wasn't something really complex but the way he scored it was so smooth and elegant, like when he used to score for fun with Liverpool. Can you honestly say that there's been one single istance in Torres's 4 years with us where looked as sharp as that? He always looked so damn clumsy. Even in his goal at the Camp Nou which is one of the proud moments you're referring to he looked like he was playing in those games with 50-60 years old retired legends for charity.

If I had to summarize his time with us I'd say that he was like a needle that doesn't sting.

Last good season was in 2009 with Liverpool. For us he'll be a great player, Fondly remembered. 9 years back.

For Spain in the same time, Villa takes all the plaudits.

He was a very good player at Liverpool and Spain NT! But he fell off massively after he left Liverpool and was never the same, certainly not elite, afterwards both at club and NT.

You can't call him a class act as well because he never thought twice before jumping a ship even for A.Madrid.

I think he just got lucky Madrid came back for him to sign for free(?). No one would even have cared about him then.

He did score 2 final winning goals, One in the Euros and one in the EL. Other than that his latest memory stretches back to the Barcelona game where he made it 2-2.

unbelievable player in his short lived prime, like you say, it's wild that he's deceived so many clubs for close to a decade now, by all accounts post Chelsea he should have been playing for Granada or St Etienne. That said, whenever I saw him at Atletico, he was putting in a shift.

Sometimes I feel he was always good but never WC even at LFC because we didn't win anything with him leading us unfortunately. He benefited with the midfielders in their absolute prime behind him, Masch-Alonso-Gerrard.
