Valencia are a little vulnerable at the back but they are playing good

Cerci
Never doubts about the fact that he will be a failure to Atletico.
Not adapted to top teams

is pedro that bad ?
at some point he was the barça player i feared the most . always scoring decisive goals and destroying madrid's defense .

Lord knows what happened to him. He doesn't add anything. No takeons, no clever movements (which used to be his specialty, 19 year old Munir gets into more positions to score now), no goals. Pretty much nothing except running around like a headless chicken with his arms flailing.

I was wondering wtf was up with Siqueira taking that penaltyFußball wrote:Mandzukic pulls one back. Then they get a penalty to make it 3-2 but Siqueira tells Mandzukic to step aside from the penalty spot (dafuq ) and has his penalty saved by penalty saving Lord Diego Alves.

@Collblanc
Most teams just go on self-destructive mode when they play with madrid but that wasn't the case against athletico bilbao.
They were their normal aggressive self but madrid was just on their best day.

Re: La Liga 2014/15 Discussion
A thoroughly enjoyable weekend in La Liga honestly. Eibar being the best Basque team in Spain is quite something. I do hope it lasts throughout the campaign just to see if Arq would want guys on said team to get called up on the NT.
It's not so much teams don't know how to play Real Madrid. I think every manager knows where their weakness(es) is(are). It's whether the opposition is skilled enough to capitalize on it. Athletic did well to utilise Marcelo's glaring problems but they didn't capitalize. RM had no issues getting pass Athletic's defensive frailties.
Every time I see a Valencia win or Valencia in good form, I just remember our resident Valencia fan Che and the biggest reverse jinx thread ever.

Re: La Liga 2014/15 Discussion
Nothing short of what I predicted. Simply put, La Liga teams respect Madrid's attacking talent high enough play to their own game or just don't have the necessary means to hurt them.
Where Madrid can fail, and miserably at that, is Champions League where a team with some cojones will take their game to them and attack their flawed line up.
The squad that Ancelotti lined up against Athletic is suicide against top European teams. Playing two defensively incapable fullbacks in Carvajal and Marcelo, fielding a defenceless midfield trio of Kroos, Rodríguez and Modrić along with wingers who do modest defensive work...that doesn't sound good to me. No doubt they are one of the best attacking teams in Europe this season but there are still question marks over their ability to perform under fire.

The same was said last year
Actually the only thing Carlo does wrong imo is not playing Illarra.

Re: La Liga 2014/15 Discussion
All teams respect RM's attack, doesn't matter the opposition. If they don't capitalize on RM's defensive frailties (which both La Real & Atletico have done so far) and RM subsequently punishes said team, please don't act all shock or be like "no one knows how to play RM?!".

No he doesn't. Just shows me that you haven't watched him at all because that's exactly how he looked for us. He just doesn't have that super slender athlete look to him and never has.
I'm sure all obese people would wish to look like that.

iirc didn't Siquiera take penalties for Granada? Or is it just me remembering that one penalty he had against us?
He shouldn't have taken it regardless, but at least I don't think he's completely clueless from the penalty spot.

Re: La Liga 2014/15 Discussion
In a press conference for the NT, Kroos said that while La Liga on average might have 'better footballers' than the Bundesliga, the small teams there generally tend to roll over and be easy prey for big teams.
That's also why he's quite happy there, as it suits his pedestrian temperament.
I'm paraphrasing.
