Atleti is spending after 3-4 seasons of cashing in. RM is making history for the first time in years where they don't spend really big.

True Barca have a ban, but if you divide the spending in two, you'll get about 30-40 mil, which barca almost regularly spends on transfers for years now. When did Atleti spend 30-40 mil in transfers consistently?

Atleti also make less revenue than us, therefore the margin between profit and loss will be smaller. Giving them more money from tv deals won't change a thing imo

Oh and don't be ridiculous everyone have to sell to buy. Don't let the summer of 2009/2010 cloud your judgement where we took out a loan. last season we had to sell ozil to balance our books and this season DiMaria etc. Of course we can give higher wages but that's because we taie 50% of these players image right and so earn money that way

Atleast Mou had the balls to play Varane, which is one the only thing I'll praise from his time at Madrid, even though it could be too much at times. Ancelotti seems like he wants to avoid conflict, even though Varane is clearly better than Ramos and Pepe.

True. But tbf to Carlo, Mourinho's choice was alot easier because Pepe looked worse than he does now and IIRC he had some injury problems. So, it was easy to take him out for the superior Varane.

Now, Carlo would have to take out Ramos because its him who looks the worse of the two (him and Pepe) defensively.

Its a harder thing to do. Maybe Mourinho would have done it, he did take out Iker after all, but still its a different choice right?

Also don't know why anyone is surprised, been saying since day 1 that Carlo won't start him. He just doesn't start kids when there's an even reliable option with experience available.

I was told nah its because he's injured he'll start when fit It's just who it is, he did the same at PSG with Alex and Sakho. ( another defender I find highly overrated but he's much better than Alex)

Can't defend Benzema anymore. He is either not interested in playing for Madrid(Why sign 5 year contract then?) Or he just wants to be a passenger.

James was awful. But it's not his fault he is being asked to fill Di maria's boots. I don't know if people watched him at Porto and Monaco. But he is not the sort of player who would bust a gut for the team. He is like Ozil but a poor version, although versatile. If Perez wanted a 10, why did he sell Ozil in the first place?

The pivot is the worst part of the side. Kroos-Modric once again failed to perform together. Lack of chemistry? perhaps. But how can you press so badly as an individual? Kroos as Alonso's replacement sounded good on paper because they are both good long passers. But Kroos has none of Alonso's positional sense nor he is as comfortable playing as a regista. Kroos is much better in a forward role as he plays for Germany. Deeper, he gets ruined everytime but a better team. Bayern Vs Madrid last season.

I can't see Madrid winning the league this season either at this rate. It would take something of a drastic change in the side and level of performance.

The only way we will win things this season is if Carlo benches one of Perez' favourites and all those favourites were bought for large sums so if they do get benched Perez will become a laughing stock, so I cant see that happening

The only way we'll win the league this season is if Carlo is fired. This guy has no idea what it takes to win a competitive league. He fluked one with a legendary Milan team and won one by default with PSG

Anyway on the pitch this loss is on Iker, Benzema and Carlo. Bale wasn't far behind either although he was double teamed the whole game, but this isn't the first time he's gotten this treatment from Atleti either, he needs to handle it a lot better.

the first goal was far from his fault lmao it was a 3 yard goal... what do you expect him to do? he stared down benzema and ronaldo for their shit marking and rightfully so but those two can't be criticized oh surely not the board would go crazy if they were.

second goal atletico scored ramos and pepe both were just hanging out next to iker rather then you know actually defending...

Individually all the players you mentioned were OK. The issue is clearly a collective one where the overall team approach is currently non existent. Doesn't help when you have a perfectly decent DM in Illarra and you don't use him.

Isco wasn't very good tonight and he wasn't good against La Real either. He keeps the ball fantastically well but his decision making is two seconds too slow.

He was getting booed by Bernabeu tonight, so even they noticed how meek he was. A total non factor who just stands on his line all game doing nothing when his team mates are all over the place.

He's the captain as well so he theoretically should be a calming influence. Instead the team has their hearts in the their throats on every set piece because they know Iker isn't going to do a single thing to stop the ball from coming in.

All those Madrid fans that said ya'll lost to Atleti because ya'll didn't care about the Super Cup...so what's your excuse this time? Do ya'll also don't care about the league?!
