Re: NEW OFFICIAL: PSG sign Di Maria
His biggest problem is Van Gaal was his manager lol, let us not pretend it's anything else. A lot better players than Di Maria have struggled under this moron.
Wouldn't even surprise me if Falcao suddenly starts scoring goals tbh.

Or that when he's given full authority,he has actually managed to produce results.

With shit players, his " results " only go so far. He's incapable of working with talented players for very long.

On what do you base that ?
And i think its well known he has a thing against South American players.I am not sure if its a conspiracy but past stints with different clubs kind of indicate that.
Dont think he even requested for Di Maria and Falcao in the first place.

Let him take the easy way out and enjoy a weak league.
The EPL is so strong that they doiminate Europe and top the UEFA coeefecient rankings...
O wait...what was that? They are 3rd in the Co effecients and they all flopped in Europe? Gotcha
(:
PL> Ligue 1. That was my point.

Rivaldo and Riquelme as wingers spring to mind immediately. Also, not sure why Red thinks Di Maria is mentally or physically weak. A flop, once the transfer happens but he has real qualities of a determine guy. He just didn't work out and really didn't want to be in England.
I don't wanna put all the blame on Van Gaal but I would anyway due to my bias against him.

Re: NEW OFFICIAL: PSG sign Di Maria
people blaming this and that as to why di maria was a waste of time and money. the reason he flopped was down to having no backbone for a fight. he wanted defenders to act like moses and part the sea and let him through. as soon as defenders got around him and he knew he would have a battle every game he folded like a cheap deck chair.

His career, look at Ajax, Barca, Bayern everything..... his most success pound for pound were with Ajax and Alkmaar and both times were kids who didn't stand up to him and did exactly what they were told to do like little robots.
He's incapable of adapting his team or allowing any sort of expression, his team has to adapt to him which long term is a recipe for failure.
He's too much of an egomaniac to succeed here, he'll fail eventually like he has everywhere else big since Ajax.... brb Bayern, brb philosophy.

Respond properly to what?
To some nonsense that a guy that was MOM in a CL final, that consistently raises his game in the biggest matches for club and country apparently now doesn't have the "Mentality" to play in the fcking PL? The likes of Spurs, QPR, Liverpool, Stoke and Everton were just too much for him?
Or that he can't handle the supposed "physicality" of this Real life Rocket League?
Please....... what a ridiculous statement.

Re: NEW OFFICIAL: PSG sign Di Maria
I think personally he didnt like to be in England after that robbery and all which occurred in his house. His wife publicly stated something along the lines she dislikes Manchester and stuff.
Nobody is questioning Di maria's 'mentality'. Its just that he wanted to go to Paris even last summer and didnt materialize and now he sensed theres an opportunity courtesy the ffp farce.
Add that to him not getting picked up by lvg owing to poor form (once again owing to using incorrectly), he might have thought its better for everyone involved to move.
Thats all. Theres a difference between playing with your heart and playing for money.
In di maria's case it was unfortunately for us the latter. And thinking as a neutral and not as a man u fan I respect that if he want to leave.

First of all-
I meant mentality in rising to the challenge of staying another season at Utd. To not leave with a whimper after a poor 1st season (by his standards).
Secondly-
Physically he was too weak for the league. Seeing him get easily shoved off the ball weak in weak out, pull out of challenges made me cringe. Every 50-50 ball he'll wimp out of against the likes of Hull, Burnley, etc. When he went on his arse tamely in the final game at Hull and had to leave the field because of an "injury", I knew this guy wasn't up to it.

Re: NEW OFFICIAL: PSG sign Di Maria
By far the biggest flop in PL history... This happens when you buy a player who only wanted to leave his club because of wage dispute and his main target was Paris all day.
83 mill for di Maria ....Perez

Re: NEW OFFICIAL: PSG sign Di Maria
if you look at Argentinian players coming to England they are about 50-50 Crespo di maria varon and lamella not up to it. tevez kun macharano and heinze did well.RED wrote:izzy wrote:RED wrote:Rather than use 2 words and a smiley, why don't you respond properly and tell me why you disagree with me?

1. You did not imply that at all. That is a whole different matter than saying and I quote, "he is mentally and physically a pussy to play in England".
2. Are you kidding me? When will some of you PL fans get the notion of your supposed "physicality" being something that stops players that aren't known for brute strength succeeding in the damn league out of your heads? It doesn't exist.
Let me run through a list of players in the PL who are succeeding in this "Physical" league:
Hazard
Silva
Ramsey
Sanchez
Countinho
Barkley
Fabregas
There's plenty more. This notion that you need be able to "get stuck in" and "crunch the other guy" to survive in the PL is lolworthy crap.

Re: NEW OFFICIAL: PSG sign Di Maria
Physicality in the PL is an outdated myth, it used to be like that but when you have players like Silva dominating it clearly isn't like that anymore.
It's a much faster league overall in terms of tempo, but in no way is it more physical.

Ok Ok, next time I'll be more specific.
Look at ADM compared to them though, the guy is built like a stick insect.

I don't care how he's built. Physicality is more than just brute force, Stamina is one of them
These are all physical attributes that players posses. Fact of the matter is, those players I named are not known for being "power houses" and they are able to play at a high level regardless.

Re: NEW OFFICIAL: PSG sign Di Maria
come off it. if your the manager of stoke burnly and clubs like that and you see di maria just come into the prem lge what are you gonna say to your players. stand off him and let him play or get on him and give him a bit of a kick. that's why the prem lge is so competitive. if the small clubs took on the big boys in a football match they would get beat 6-0 like what happends in spain. so to compeat they work harder and they battle harder. what is it that does for arsenal every season. they allways have then games where teams like sunderland catch them on a cold day and bully them for the 3 points.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Physicality in the PL is an outdated myth, it used to be like that but when you have players like Silva dominating it clearly isn't like that anymore.
