Honestly if there is a better time for Arsene to beat Mou in a competitive match it would be now.

You vastly underestimate how shit we are at SB
Hoping for a 1-1 so both of us can go through another week without a meltdown

I don't think you realize how shit we are right now.
Tel Aviv aside, worst CL team we ever faced. Mou will also turn back to the underperforming players.
exploit Ivanovic side and you will win.

We would have had a chance, but Wenger will prepare the squad on Sunday for the Saturday game.

Re: Rival Watch
This is the thing about this league: the top teams aren't so good that they'll always dominate. They're not Bayern or Barcelona. So if you stick around the top up until Feb/March you've always got a chance of challenging.
Basically, we stay within four or five points up till then, and then put together a run like we have done in the previous few seasons, we'll have a chance.
That does, of course, depend on us not dropping stupid points and getting our act together.

Re: Rival Watch
At least we got stamford Bridge aka annual 3 points dropped out of the way early. Stoke away is the only other fixture where we have a 90% defeat rate or so.

Re: Rival Watch
If you break it down the league season, so far, has gone just about expected.
9 points against Palace, Newcastle and Stoke, the games we all expected to win.
1 point against Liverpool, which is acceptable.
0 points against Chelsea, which was expected.
So only the West Ham game has gone against our expectations.
Now, when you factor in performances and other factors it's not been a great start, but results-wise at least it's not been too bad.

Re: Rival Watch
Yea agreed.
I know it's a long shot but if we manage to stay within 5 points of whoever is at the top (would be great if it's us), then we really do need to sign a player to revitalise the squad in Jan. Just like we Signed Arshavin few years back.
But Welbeck and Wilshere should be making their return around then (:

Which is why it's not the time for overreaction. We're still very much in it, but we need to get in a good run from now on and truly estabilish ourselves.

Re: Rival Watch
drawing at home vs Liverpool ISNT acceptable since we barely get results in big away games
need 6/6 pts from next 2 games if we want to keep up

Re: Rival Watch
At the start of the season it's an acceptable result. Teams don't have a lot of form and players are still finding form and match fitness. There's a reason a lot strange results occur during this part of the season.
Also come the end of the season when we look back at our results and see which games we dropped needless point in, that Liverpool result won't be one, but the West Ham one certainly will. You can excuse dropped points against a team like Liverpool, but not West Ham.
That's why I call it an acceptable point.

Re: Rival Watch
maybe
will be acceptable if we get some good/or better than expected results away from home
but we will see
dropped 16 pts at home last season which isnt good enough
already 5 this term from 3 games

Re: Rival Watch
Costa banned for 3 games.
Gabriel red rescinded. (He still has to respond to improper conduct charge for not walking off)
Dean goes scot free again.
Some justice, in all, even if too late.

Re: Rival Watch
Don't see it as justice at all tbh. Costa misses a few very easy games including a winnable cup game and Mourinho has another narrative to moan about for the next few weeks.

Re: Rival Watch
Manchester derby on Sunday. We're sandwiched between the two clubs atm in the league.
LVG reckons City have an advantage since they played at home on Wednesday, while United had to take 2 4-hour flights to Moscow and only return to Manchester on Thursday afternoon. (A bit of moaning, if you ask me. 4 hours is nothing!) Also said something about possible sub-zero temps in Moscow, but I didn't check this.

Re: Rival Watch
A draw would be neat.
But of course if one wins we would want it to be the team with the lower points, which in this case is United. Still a long way to go to look at any other variables.

Re: Rival Watch
Think City would win it with the form they were in, but Aguero/Kolarov/Silva are bound to be big misses for them.
Doubt Sterling, KDB and Yaya can carry them without Silva/Aguero in this game. Then again, it's a derby.
United also have their own troubles, but LVG has done really well to keep them up there with a real title fight in the offing.
The result is crucial to all sides, but the game itself might not be sooooo interesting to watch imho. Well, at least we don't have park-the-bus managers so they would set things up for a decent fight!
We still have to keep our own focus on Saturday and get 3 points, to keep the pressure on these two going into Sunday.

Re: Rival Watch
City's fixtures seem tougher, although 3 are at home.
We have 3 away games - Villa could be especially difficult if they progress under Garde, while West Brom will be almost as hard with that dickshit manager at their helm.
United have some banana peels too.
