Don't call me James wrote:Just like most of us called it, Bulls are legit. Best team in the East. Cavs second. I'd probably wager Hornets to come up as 3rd best. Heat, Wizards and Raptors to fight it off for 4th. Knicks, Indiana, and Brooklyn
What impressed me the most about the Bulls was how ridiculously deep they looked. D Rose was OK, got what ever he wanted in transition so that's good even if his shot was a bit off.
But they looked like they could score any time they wanted, which is far cry from any Bulls team of this Rose era. Could be the Knicks just sucking ass but there are very good signs.

The best post up offensive center in the league when healthy. But is never healthy.

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
I know its his first game, but I think Fisher made a mistake last night.
The game started off quite even, Knicks doing some good things. But when Melo and Amare went out and the bench guys came in, it good ugly fast. The Bulls bench turned it around then by the time Melo and Amare were back they were already down 12-15 points.
He should of brought one of them back in the game much sooner. Rest is important obviously, but you got to pick the right times.

I wonder if Melo realizes he made a mistake by staying yet
Mark Jackson and Van Gundy were talking about how the players Phil had is what made the triangle so great, not just the system.. I agree
The Knicks are in for a rough year imo

You're taking what they said somewhat out of context. They said what made any team ever great was a great coach combined with great players. The Knicks looked really good yesterday to start off. Derek made a mistake in the rotation out there. On the positive note, Amare looked really healthy.
Lakers season officially over for my part. Hope we get the worst record, we need a top 5 pick.

Yeah but people think of the triangle as some sort of holy grail, so did Melo obviously because he stayed knowing he's surrounded by JR Smith and a bunch of scrubs..

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
What JVG said is true. Great players is how you win, but you need an offensive system and the triangle is a viable one.
Too much is being made of the triangle, both positive and negative. Its not to blame for anything, there is nothing wrong with the system and on the same token its not a magical formula which solves everything either. Its just a system of play, no more, no less.
I didnt agree with Jackson's negative comments. He suggested Melo wont get enough touches because of the triangle and the Knicks should scrap the triangle for steady diets of "give the ball to Melo"...I totally disagree. Give the ball to Melo and everyone stand around is exactly why the Knicks have sucked on the offensive end.
I think the Knicks will be fine. It will obviously take some time to figure out the offence...they got deep into the clock on alot of possessions just because it took them more than half the clock to get everyone in the correct positions to run the offence. Then they missed alot of cuts and passes which meant they ended up trying to shoot shots with 5 seconds or less on the clock.
But once they get a better understanding of the system, I dont see why they cant be decent (6-8th seed). Dalembert showed some great passing from the post, Amare looked very bright, Melo looked good (but with some confusion over when it shoot and when to pass) and the bigs in general did an alright job against a very tough Bulls frontline. The problems were the wing players, Hardaway, Smith and Shumpert all had very poor games.

Wat? You think he stayed just because of the triangle?
Nothing to do with Phil Jackson track record, NY being "home" or just generally the feeling of playing in NY? Or the extra money?

One of the best. A blur in fast breaks, a steller defender, cant be stopped getting to the rim, improving his jumpshot and still remains a superior passer than the likes of Irving, Rose, Westbrook and other "scoring" point guards.
I actually have some respect for Skip's views, so I have to question how often he has seen Wall play.

Not just because of the triangle but that has to be the main reason.. Phil isn't coaching, the money isn't that big a difference once you take into account the taxes and cost of living in New York
I think he truly believed he can win there, with the triangle

Did anyone expect the Knicks to turn it around right away? I hope not. Phil is taking over a project and it will take time. Things don't just change overnight because you bring in a great head coach.

Again, the rotations got screwed up. New system. Played against the favourites in the conference. What did you expect?

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
Tbf to the Knicks what happened was no shame, Bulls basically did what the Spurs did to every *bleep* last year.
They remained competitive with the starters and then the bench came in and blew the game open. I can't remember the amount of times Spurs were down 5 last year, Ginobli, Mills, and Diaw come in and bam there's a 10-15 point lead before half time.
We'll see what the Knicks are really capable of when they don't play the two teams who are gonna run through the conference.

Kobe rotted a lot of prime years away playing with Swush and Kwame though that team is almost this level we're at now, except we're worse now when Kobe can't hit 50 every game

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
No it isn't lol.
The starting unit isn't even bad, Calderon, Shumpert, Melo, Amare and Dalembert is decent.
It's the bench which is horrific, not everyone is 10 deep like the Bulls. They will end up being a lot better than people think.
Edit: your talking about Lakers ain't you lol? My bad.
