Has been amazing today. Looks like he's finally got his confidence back after Bale made him his bitch a few months back.

oh come on, a little homo is okay :flower:

i think it'll take a while for him to achieve the status that dani alves possesses.

Yes I agree Maicon has always performed well for Brasil. I think the yellow jersey is too heavy for Dani Alves. He tries to do to much, always an extra deke or an extra touch,.He's definetly not the Barca Dani Alves when he plays for Brasil.

Maicon gave up hustling on defense either after the CL final or after Brazils WC defeat

Bottom line is that while Maicon may have let his work ethic go a bit recently, he's still a more intelligent player than Alves

Also in a year or two (or three) Rafael will be better than both anyway

Ecuador guys... that was the opponent. One of the worst 3 teams in the competition. They only scored 2 goals and both were against Brazil last night.

Put a quality player with pace against Maicon these days and he will not hold. Wait until he has to face a real wing player.

Maicon was the best 2 years ago... but he's slows down a lot.

Granted, Alves just got owned completely the game before this one lol.

Brilliant RB and one of the best in the world.

I love to watch the wing-backs who have an attacking nature and bomb forward. Maicon is one of those players.

He reminds of the Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos in a lot of ways. Obviously not as good, but he is still an excellent player who was pivotal to Inter Milan's Champions League success in 2010.

Maicon is still the best, he just lacks the confidence and ambition he used to have.

how can goal.com give ramires a 7.0 rating? that website is such a joke. ramires played some terrible passes, ruined some great attacks, and just likes to run a lot, but he doesnt produce enough with the ball itself. they're so biased just because he plays for an english club.
