and last season in madrid ozil was mediocre, first one he was ok, and second one he was great. I can easily argue that Sanchez had an ok season out of those 2 years you describe as being mediocre.
And RObes, i am disappointed. you are one of those who is always eager to cover Suarez with grape vines, after he spent one year scrubkilling epl midgets, but other players cant enjoy the same compliment. And i am not even saying that Sanchez is a top 10 player.
i just asked why is Ozil better than Sanchez? i got thrown assists numbers in my face.
let's look at Cesc resume at barca, them eye popping goals and assists for a midfielder.
What are you trying to ask here.
Is Sanchez a better player than Ozil or is he a better CAM than Ozil?

meh.. for me Ozil can be rated as top 3 in his role , Sanchez not. I don't know if he can be rated even as "top player" but maybe a lower level than it, although he remains a player definitely talented. No doubts.
Imho.
Ozil has some defects as I wrote above and infact although he was good overally to Madrid ( I remember most Madrid fans were angry for his selling on the other hand) , he didn't get the confirmation . and at the end Ancelotti made a correct choice. Now it's easy to say it, but at the time the most number of opinions didn't approve it. Buit anyway despite this imo he is even most consistent than Sanchez .
This season was very good , even 19 goals scored, but I don't think still this is his real standard of goals. But I can be wrong .
About the fact that Ozil has showed something of more than Sanchez in career I don't have doubts . These are facts.
about Suarez, however he was the difference maker in that Copa America won in Argentina of Messi and if we analyze his performances not watching just the statistics he was good in big matches this year, basically he played badly only both the matches against Mourinho , specialized to cage top players
On the other hand I don't remember ONE match good played by Sanchez in Champions League with Barca, and I say Barca, a club with so much overall quality

Arsenal for the second year in a row sign a elite player, elite winger, something they need to attack teams from wide positions with sheer speed and dribbling.
good job wenger.
On a club level,he hasnt really shown much to be branded as an elite quality player regardless this is still an excellent signing. He's better than any attacker they have currently bar Oezil.
How many wingers/attacking midfielders scored 21 goals and gave 15 assists last season? That in a team he supposedly struggles in.
1 good season at Barca and he's elite ?
And regarding on why Oezil is more established..
-Amazing first season at Madrid,a season Sanchez never ever had in his career in terms of impact.
-A really good second season too and helped Madrid win the league.
-Inconsistent 2012-13 season but its comparable to Sanchez's first few seasons at Barca.
-Satisfactory season at Arsenal while Sanchez went on to do really well last season. Its like the best season he's had at the club while Oezil at Madrid has shown he's one of the best in his position like Robes said, which Sanchez hasnt.
Enough arguments to suggest that Oezil is more established regardless of the numbers.
As for the better player, both have different skillsets which they excel in so it becomes a bit of useless comparison though Oezil has shown his 'talent' to a greater extent on the big stage than Sanchez in my opinion.
Lets wait and see how Oezil does in his 2nd yr shall we,especially when he'll have better quality surrounded around him.

Exclusive – Sanchez's Arsenal switch 'almost done', reveals Wenger
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told talkSPORT the club expect to complete the signing of Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez on Wednesday.
The Chile star has been linked with a number of top clubs across Europe, most notably with the Gunners’ Premier League rivals Liverpool, who wanted the 25-year-old as part of a player-plus-cash deal for Barca-bound Luis Suarez.
Sanchez keen to leave the Catalan club following their approach for the prolific Uruguayan, and – with Liverpool recently cooling their interest in the attacker – Arsenal have landed their target with a superior offer.
Latest reports have suggested Sanchez will move to north London for €35million [around £28million], signing a four-year contract at the Emirates Stadium.
This latest deal means Arsenal will spend approximately £40million in a matter of days, having already secured the arrival of French international full-back Mathieu Debuchy

Re: Alexis on the move let's see where he lands
How many Barca fans though to sell Sanchez to the same price bought by Udinese 3 years ago?
Imo , very few until a few months ago . if we consider they are replacing him with Suarez, I would be enough satisfied of this deal tbh

Re: Alexis on the move let's see where he lands
In his first interview as a Gooner, Sanchez spoke about his decision to join Arsenal and begin this new stage of his career.
“I’m so happy to be joining Arsenal, a club which has a great manager, a fantastic squad of players, huge support around the world and a great stadium in London. I’m looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and to be playing for Arsenal in the Premier League and Champions League. I will give my best to Arsenal and want to make all the supporters happy.”
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is also thrilled to have the experienced forward join his squad and is excited for what Alexis will bring.
“As many people have seen during the World Cup this summer, Alexis is a fantastic footballer and we are delighted that he is joining us at Arsenal Football Club.
“Alexis will add power, creativity and much quality to our squad and we are all looking forward to him joining up with us in a few weeks.
He has consistently produced top-quality performances at the highest level for a number of seasons now and we are all excited to see him integrate into the Arsenal squad. I’m sure all Arsenal supporters will join me in welcoming Alexis to our club.”

But Sanchez alone is going to cost more in wages than both those two combined.

What are his reported wages? Arsenal's highest earners are supposedly Ramsey (£130k p/w) and Oezil (£160k p/w)

He's a very good player but he's not exactly Top Tier. You're overrating him.

Yes,but from a Juventus perspective no matter how you word it,we wouldnt've been able to afford him regardless unless we had sold Vidal or Pogba.
Arsenal had the money, good for them.I wouldnt have paid more than 30m euros for Sanchez.
