You can't really compare to last season as Debuchy is a vastly better fullback than Sagna in terms of going forward.

So he should improve build ups by default.

I think Arteta sat deeper most of the time to control play and start attacks from the back, Flamini is faster and more athletic and therefore capable of tracking back when s*** inevitably hits the fan (see Everton FA Cup and him having Barkley within range but letting him pass to avoid a red, that kind of tracking back)

Khedira and Ramsey can work just like it does with Basti, Ramsey will only improve and as he's already familiar with our German contingency I wouldn't worry about how it would work if we sign him.

Ramsey has a better engine than Schweiny who has a great one at that, and is more mobile too.

lmao RG. Ramsey is going to evolve into a more positional role, just like piggy did. he used to be a box to box but he improved his role as DLP. Ramsey will do the same. It's only talentless scrubs that stay box to box all their careers, bar few exceptions ofc.

Arteta definitely had the DLP role he just isn't effective there against high pressing teams. Mainly because his mobility but also he needs time to pass the ball imo. I think that would also be the problem with ramsey, if you imagine ramsey as a DLP moving back with his back to goal against a high pressing team, I think he would lose the ball too often for a start, he would be forced into mistakes or he would slow the game down.

Sorry but this is simply not true. Rarely do players stay b2b because not many have the stamina to perform the role beyond 30.

As far as I'm concerned, we should be buying the best player to compliment Ramsey. Ramsey's midfield runs are crucial to our attack. Schneiderlin will sit and allow Ramsey (and Debuchy) to go forward. He's got the positional discipline, and defensive ability to play that role. Khedira is arguably the better player but does not fill that role we need IMO.

Arteta got too old and slow to be useful in attack. Asking Ramsey to sit deep is wasting his attacking talents.

Raptor the deal was done ages ago, we are just waiting for us to complete the Janmaat deal..... but having said that that's completely done too and he's signed the contract.
