A real man lives up to his promises. Ronaldo said he owes us a champions league final after losing to BVB last year. Tonight he delivered.

Certainly for me one of the best players ever. up there with the likes of Pele, Maradona , Di Stefano, Cruyff, Zidane, R9 , Messi etc. Don't let the unbelievable brilliance of Messi doubt this phenomenon that is Cristiano.

Re: The new and improved Cristiano Ronaldo fan club thread
Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff believes Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are arguably the two best players in the world at the moment, but feels the Argentine mainly relies on his technique whereas the Real Madrid forward is physically strong, too.
Ronaldo beat his La Liga rival to the 2013 Fifa Ballon d'or after Messi had won the inaugural three editions of the prestigious individual award and Cruyff has stressed that he thoroughly enjoys watching both players when they're at their best.
"Messi and Ronaldo are the two most beautiful players now and with distinctive styles. One is purely technical while the other is physical as well," Cruyff told Times of India.
"And I like to watch both of them since this tells you clearly how different the game can be.
"Football is such a wonderful game because of its variations and its acceptance of every style. I like watching both at their best."
Cruyff then went on to discuss this summer's World Cup and stressed that several teams have a chance at winning the tournament, although he doesn't expect England to make much of an impact.
"There are quite a few teams that can win the World Cup. Brazil are one of the contenders. They are the hosts and they had shown in the Confederations Cup what they can do. Yes, the pressure of expectations will be there.
"Spain has not lost their aura, although those champions are four years older now. Germany and Italy are always considered big threats since they do play well in the World Cup. Argentina with Lionel Messi and Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo are among the favourites, too. However, I don't think England will be able to surprise."

Re: The new and improved Cristiano Ronaldo fan club thread
I am 100% certain that I will be called a hater but I am curious, out of those 17 goals, how many were decisive? The ones against Juventuns and Dortmund, and which else?

I'm genuinely happy Ronaldo made that gesture to piss some people off in this forum, made the win twice as enjoyable.

It was just a question, but like I said, I knew that some of you would react like that.
Not really, but what I do find funny is that Neymar making a little dance when he scored a screamer created a shitstorm in Spain, yet no media has mention C.Ronaldo's over the top celebration..
And btw, that's why people hate C.Ronaldo. Not because he is pretty, rich and a great footballer, but becuase it's seems that he cares moer about him scoring than his teams achievements..

maybe because you're prone to posting whiny shit about madrid and ronaldo ? and the second part of you post typical of you , the whole victim complex thing sprinkled with conspiracies about favoritism towards madrid .
let's get back on topic , it's really hard to gauge what's " decisive " when your team is destroying opponents 4-0, 5-0 etc... like madrid did in the knockout stages ( save for the second leg against dortmund where ronaldo didn't play )
also ronaldo scored in every single game he played in save for the first leg against bayern , he can't be blamed if madrid won by large scores and his goals were deemed indecisive by mr harhar.
and if you're gonna scrutinize ronaldo's record, let's do the same for the previous record holder:
14 goals :
5 penalties
6 against a shitty Leverkusen
2 against Water Borisov
3 against Viktoria Plzen
3 against milan ( all from the penalty spot )

Ok, that's good and all. But what's that got to do with anything? I have never bragged about Messi's record for a reason.
I have time and time again said that stats means nothing to me. Infact, at the start of the season when Messi was the topscorer, I was saying that Neymar was being our best player.

Re: The new and improved Cristiano Ronaldo fan club thread
but what are you saying ? that most of ronaldo's goals have to be winners or vital equalizers for his record to mean anything ?
there is always a catch with the detractors :
the first criticism is usually something about penalties and tap ins , the second one is about the lack of scoring against big teams , and the thrid one is trying to argue that the goals weren't all that important to begin with .
dude scored in almsot every single match he played, scored in every stage of the tournament , scored against every single team he faced this year , and ended up with on the highest goal to game ratios in the history of the tournment .
it's a colossal feat from a colossal player , anything less than that is mindless hating .

I was wondering how many of those goals were decisive and how many of them were simply "stat padding"..
