Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey
What a show.
I was never one for documentaries but this one is not a dry fact documentary,it is so much more.
I'm into Ep3 right now and it's a story about Newton,Halley and some others. What blows me away is not only they narrate what happened, who discovered what and when, the animate it,give it atmosphere and surroundings, reasons and motives, put characters in situations.
The guy who presents the show is also perfect for the role. He's articulate and speaks clearly, with just the right tone of his voice and choice of words in every moment. He also seems to have a deep understanding of what he's talking about. The vessel concept is also very good.Makes it easier to put things in perspective and understand better.
It has been a 10/10 so far.Everyone should see this.

I watched the first episode.
The one where they talked about the earth calendar, and that life only became at the last second on 31 Dec. Crazy to think about that and to try comprehend it.

Re: Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey
Is this the original Carl Sagan documentary or the sequel to it?
I totally loved the original version, and I guess it is because I saw that first, but I think the sequel is a bit flatter, even though it has the better visuals and animations.

I just can't take the guy seriously sometimes. He reminds me of Cleveland.

Re: Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey
Watched the first 4 but kind of fell off the schedule because I've gotten busy. Will watch the episodes when I have the time.
I thought the first 2 episodes, especially the pilot, were kind of all over the place and tried to do too much, but it improved tremendously after that. Great show. Both the original (which I haven't seen much of ) and what I've watched of this one so far

Amazing show FFS.
The realization of how little we know and take it for granted is mind-wrecking.That sensation of depth...
Simply spoken, the show comes up to your thought process and tells it...
Then it does...And it's glorious

Re: Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey
What a show that was. Finally got around to watching it on Netflix.
Amazing stuff truly. No offense to those that are religious, but honestly that show really lays it on thick just how puny and insignifant we are as a species, a race, and as a world. Based on what was discussed and explored throughout that documentary, religion simply doesn't hold up to the questions asked and answered by DeGrasse-Tyson.

Re: Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey
You don't need to look at Cosmos to see what's wrong with Religions, it's a simple matter of ethics. Genesis doesn't hold up from a moral standpoint
My only gripe about the show is that it mostly 90's and 80's scientific knowledge, maybe next season will have some of the more modern stuff.
