How long is temporary ban?
Not planning on having one (McLewis really supports Lazio, Yann Sommer is the most overrated goalkeeper of all time and RG and RedO both dream of trolling the shit out of this place one day. CBarca is the only real power here), just thought to ask how long it is?

I think it varies, depending on the offense.

Re: How long is temporary ban?
Generally, first time offenders get shorter bans, repeat offenders get longer bans but it all depends on what they did.

Re: How long is temporary ban?
Yeah okay. I was just thinking they seem quite long.
A suggestion I'd make is - not related to ban length but - about the warning level. I suppose it never goes higher up than 25% after you've gone that low or have come back after a ban? Unless it's a Christmas gift kind of thing from the admins. But I think it should rebound to 50% after a couple of months or so. Seems too harsh to me that after three warnings you will always be just one warning away from a ban. I mean, theoretically speaking, in a thousand years' time all of us would be at 25% if it never rebounds higher than that and it's a little too strict and doesn't serve the forum's good so well, in my opinion, if we are slowly moving towards a situation where loads of posters are at 25%.

Re: How long is temporary ban?
We do increase it if we deem them worthy, unfortunately, some users constantly toe the line between bans and therefore never redeem themselves.
Forn instance, if a model poster makes a few mistakes, gets banned, returns and returns to his former, model ways, after a while, he would return to 50% and then 100%.

All right, okay, well that sounds pretty reasonable, then.

As a general rule of thumb. Don't worry about your warning level and it will slowly increase as increase it. If you worry about it and publicly pester the staff up increasing it, it won't get increased.

Re: How long is temporary ban?
There is one problem I see with this system. (Not that it effects me because I don't really post anything to merit a warning)
But I remeber I was warned like two years ago probably after a clasico and it legit took me almost a year and half for my warning level to go back up.
All mods will say it's a matter of keep doing well and following rules and we will make sure you are rewarded, but it doesn't seem like the case.
You guys should implement an actual time framefor warning regarding how long they last etc etc. Whether it be days or months depending on the cause. If you stsrt to see a pattern behavior continue then the time will be longer.

Re: How long is temporary ban?
Meh, if you got warned and don't plan on acting up again, why is there a concern with your warning level. Most people who seem borderline obsessed, are the ones who just want (for the most part) more wiggle room for trolling. A set system is not needed and is probably avoided because it will only be taken advantage of. Every situation is going to be handled differently because it truly depends on the poster at hand. Just my two cents.

If you think you deserve to go up a warning level privately message a staff member and the merits of your argument will be assessed. Complaining publicly will almost certainly lead to refusal.

Re: How long is temporary ban?
Is Sportczy still banned? If yes, I think his ban has been way too long.
We've got some posters who go all "controversial" at times, but I think most of us agree we still want to have them here. To me, the warning system and/or ban lengths seem a tad harsh.

Re: How long is temporary ban?
Meh, if they ease up on the warning system then the quality of threads will nosedive imo
All threads containing posters of rival clubs would spiral into a repetitive shitstorm of trolling.

That said, rwo docked me 25% for ruining her breakfast because of a pic I posted in the betting thread for the loser after I won a bet Didn't even know it was offensive

Re: How long is temporary ban?
Well, if you promise to think twice next time you post stuff to punish losers of bets and keep the stuff fun instead of disgusting, I will consider your warning level.
(But not now, as that would give a bad precedence, mind you.)
