Mourinho: I expected 'Los Blancos' to be "higher up" in the Spanish league at this point in the season
José Mourinho, ex-Real Madrid manager presently at the helm of Chelsea has declared that he had expected 'Los Blancos' to be "higher up" in the Spanish league at this point in the season.
"I am a little surprised. I expected Real Madrid to be higher up, with a greater advantage, because Barcelona have lost a lot more points than they have in the past three seasons", he pointed out during an interview with Eurosport.
"The English league has four clubs fighting for the title, while in the Spanish one there are three clubs with only two or three points between them", Mourinho said.
The Portuguese manager thought that Atlético have "an incomparably lower budget" to Barcelona and Real's, but despite this, "are doing a fantastic job", this season.
Finally, he remarked that "people are used to seeing the Liga being a competition for two clubs these last years. Now it has become a league for three. That's good."

And I think everyone expected this "genius" to be walking away with the Premier League, instead his arse is twitching because of Man City and Liverpool.

Madrid bought into their own hype. They really believed the league was well and won.

Madrid under Mourinho after 30 matches
2010-11: 73 pts (2nd)
2011-12: 75 pts (1st)
2012-13: 65 pts (2nd)
Now they have 70 points. Doing around exactly as well as Mou was doing.

Well not exactly, considering Mou had more points in both his first and second season...

Lol it is true though. I still don't understand how we didn't completely walk away with the league title in his first season. He made it very nervous racking in the end.
IDK why some Madrid fans are butthurt by mou comments, you should be doing better.
Madrid should win the league and should be further up in the table, they are top to bottom the best team in La liga.

Re: Mourinho: I expected 'Los Blancos' to be "higher up" in the Spanish league at this point in the season
I think it should be apparent by now that Madrid fans (in general) had clearly made Mourinho a scapegoat as they were too blind or reluctant to point out fingers at the supposedly "the best player in the world" and thugs like Pepe and Ramos.
I do admit Mourinho stirs shit a lot, but it is reasonable since he backs it up with results. I mean, let's face it.. who realistically would've done a better job at managing Madrid against that prime Barca side? In spite of that, he broke several records with Madrid in the league such as the best point tally in La Liga history, record number of goals, etc. which I feel is quite commendable.
Players like Ibra who run their mouth for completely pointless, irrelevant purposes are lauded, but when managers like Mourinho do the same (and is a part of their job), they get the wrong end of the stick.

NO ONE...and I mean NOT ONE PERSON(except maybe a select few like yourself who are from Mars) predicted that Chelsea would "walk away with the league" this season. Chelsea don't have a proper striker to begin with. And their squad is too young/inexperienced compared to previous seasons. Next season no excuses however (assuming all the relevant transfers are made!).

Re: Mourinho: I expected 'Los Blancos' to be "higher up" in the Spanish league at this point in the season
He's right, what can we say?
I believe the majority of Madrid Fans still respect Mou and would like him to come back at some point.
Mourinho was the glue that gelled Madrid together; Madrid were and still are not champions material. They will be temporary champions at one point but their core and structure needs alot of rework. They're a group of mercenaries put together to achieve success but they dont possess the Team Spirit. Nothing like Barca, Bayern for example.
In anyway, Madrid are currently enjoying a good spell under a new manager which is the equivalent of a new chapter and the Iker Casillas aftermath. Good Luck to them.

No class again, trying to talk up his own achievements at Real and play down everyone else's as usual, pathetic Mou talk.

Re: Mourinho: I expected 'Los Blancos' to be "higher up" in the Spanish league at this point in the season
Least of all were Chelsea fans. Even on GL, find me one post from whenever that said we'd "walk the league." And even if a select number of Chelsea fans did say that, that doesn't qualify as "everyone" a.k.a most football fans.....but go ahead and try to prove where and which Chelsea fan said it.The_Badger wrote:Blue Barrett wrote:NO ONE...and I mean NOT ONE PERSON(except maybe a select few like yourself who are from Mars) predicted that Chelsea would "walk away with the league" this season. Don't worry, I know you'll say something like "I couldn't be bothered to search for that" or whatever, not like you'll find one if you search anyway.

Mourinho only ever won one major trophy at Real Madrid, so not sure why he's being treated as if he won 3 trebles and got kicked out.
Also as said earlier in the thread, 70 points after 30 games is similar to what Mourinho got.
