Who should del Bosque take to the WC?
Alcacer vs Jese vs Koke vs Raul Garcia vs Ander vs Isco
Who should go to the WC from these? Only spot for one, assuming any of them are selected.

Re: Alcacer vs Jese vs Koke vs Raul Garcia vs Ander vs Isco
Jese is the only guy who has something different from what the squad already possesses. All the others will likely be token carries who won't see the pitch.
But my answer is none.
I rather carry Navas, Negredo, Llorente, Pedro and Torres.

Re: Alcacer vs Jese vs Koke vs Raul Garcia vs Ander vs Isco
No reason to carry Torres, who if based on merit will be third choice behind Negredo and Llorente. In that case I'd rather take Alcacer than him, who looks to have a very promising future.Le Samourai wrote:Jese is the only guy who has something different from what the squad already possesses. As Josh said, only Hey-Say does something different from the rest but I'm certain none would be on the plane. Instead, Torres would be riding on past glories once more to Brasil.

Wait, I change my mind, now realise Alcacer is an option. Yeah, I voted for him.

Re: Alcacer vs Jese vs Koke vs Raul Garcia vs Ander vs Isco
They play different positions. Alcacer will find it hard to be selected with Costa pledging his future to the Spanish NT
Raul Garcia
Both Koke and Isco would be good options from the bench for the ageing Xavi and Iniesta
Also as already said Jese is a little different from the rest, could be used as an X-factor for Spain taking Mata's spot

I don't have any real excuse to take him, only arguments I could make are that he's in the best physical shape I've seen him for quite a while and, honestly, the difference between him and Llorente this year is negligible.
I have a feeling he might start if he goes, with Negredo coming on with Navas.

Raul Garcia has been a fantastic supersub that can play a large number of positions. It wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world to take him. And he has a very respectable number of goals and assists per minutes played.halamadrid2 wrote:They play different positions. Idk why people keep insisting Koke can play Xavi's role, it's painfully obvious that he's more of a Silva type player.

Im not even convinced that he is a silva type player. Truth is jury is still out on what he is and what he does exactly.

Re: Alcacer vs Jese vs Koke vs Raul Garcia vs Ander vs Isco
He is way too good defensively to be a Silva type player. I think he's a CM, more Schweinstiger than Xavi, but alas, I'm just throwing out names.
But he does remind me Schweinstiger for some reason, probably because of how much he's been moved around and how comfortable he looks pretty much everywhere in midfield.

Re: Alcacer vs Jese vs Koke vs Raul Garcia vs Ander vs Isco
Question for España always is the disparity between form for team and how one always shows up for La Roja in spite of any form. Pedro, Fabregas and Villa for one always show up no matter how poor their form for their respective clubs. Like Lippi, Del Bosque believes that the already established team chemistry and harmony is important yet sometimes takes it too far when relying on players who are shadows of what they once were.
The comparisons?
Ander is easily the best from all 6 considering he has been doing this for 5 straight years now (is only 23-24) and has been La Liga's best midfielder after Modric. Question is can he fit? Xavi may be near done for España yet is still a vital cog for us while the formation may not suit the freedom Ander needs. Isco should not be called up, simple. Jese may in this form yet Navas is the true outlet winger that is used within impact situations and Koke is simply not as good as he is made out to be. Why not Alcacer? Del Bosque will never play him in this system no matter how many he scores. Mark me on that. Raul Garcia is a respectable player yet also would not fit in.
Llorente and Torres season difference negligible? How? Llorente despite his omission in the beginning of Juventus' season has been a vital cog in their team, scoring quite frequently since and quite frankly has been their best attacker in his complete dimensional play. Torres on the other hand has been dross.
Negredo while never contributed half as much as Llorente yet is a more prolific scorer as Negredo running off a free Llorente would be perfect yet we all know Del Bosque won't do that either despite how well both of them work for España.

Agreed.
But like GL, Vicente Del Quaruple Chin doesn't scout anyone outside the current Top 3 as its unlikely he will be called up despite being 1 of two of Athletic's best players.
Frankly I don't expect anyone from Athletic or La Real simply because Del Quaruple Chin is too lazy to scout anyone outside Madrid duo and Barcelona.

He was realy good coming off the bench when Villa was fit because he would come in when Atleti were on top needing a goal. Fast forward Villa injured, Garcia got to show and make a case for himself to start and he has been absolutely dreadful to the point he has been subbed out early nearly all games he gas started for players that have never worked in that SS role. Poor player who went through a bit of a purple patch earlier in the season

People laugh at Torres because he sucks. He is living on his reputation of couple of seasons 6 years ago.
Re: Alcacer vs Jese vs Koke vs Raul Garcia vs Ander vs Isco
we can speculate who should go all we want, but the fact is that none of them will... it will be the same old xavi-xabi double pivot, villa/torres/pedro/fabregas up front... as much as i'd love spain to play exciting football again and take players who can individually make a difference, del bosque will stick to what has worked so far... all we can hope is that it doesn't work anymore and we won't have to watch that insomnia cure in two years again

You won't.
I think this is the curtain call for this group, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new coach, but even if Del Bosque don't step down, I expect some major change.
