Keyboard Empty Keyboard

Lately,I program quite often. The German layout is a real pain in the a** for special signs. Have a look:
Keyboard 550px-German-Keyboard-Layout-T2-Version2-large
As you see the ()[]{}/| signs need breaking finger sequences to get the desired effect. I want one with US Layout:
Keyboard 800px-kb_us-internatiof88w
The brands that come into question are microsoft, IBM lenovo and logitech (depending on the model).
Before I go out and splash silly money on one of those keyboards I'd like to ask any of you who uses a keyboard from those companies whether you used a model or are using one that's really, really good for people who type a lot. The emphasis is on the ones you really used/ use. I can dig out review by myself, I'm just asking for personal experience.

Important points:

- keystroke!
- placement of the keys+ media keys
- wearing off of the key labels after heavy use
- ergonomy

That's it for starters, thanks in advance :coffee:

can you not just... change the input language?

anyway i'm using logitech k260, nothing fancy but can't complain - it's wireless (the batteries last forever, i've had to change once in three years), has basic media buttons that don't require any drivers, no problems with key wearing either

I can't seem to find any new k260 anywhere to buy. Is the model outdated by chance?

I get a mouse with the K260 model along with some other stuff. K270 is just a keyboard on its own

If there isn't a massive difference then I'll just get K260
