So much truth to this.

He's an underrated player. He was just hampered with injuries.

Johnathon, you're almost certainly not a fan favourite here: (IE: actually having the experience to have seen or god forbid, having the audacity to question the coach, yet u share your opinion regardless of outcome or popular circustance.)

Just so you know, there are many out here that share your sentiments. They can disagree all they like, but you just keep calling it like you see it. You are not alone in your views.

PS: Always keep this in mind. You are on a football forum where people actually believe that one user or another's opinion holds more value or weight than someone who has actually played the game professionally. Yes, they're supposedly that good on here.

Its different, these 2 la masia kids can are subs and are okay with making 10 min cameos throughout the season and Tello can even go to barca B for some matches. Its okay for them to play a role like that in the team.

I'm pretty sure Afellay wouldnt want that kind of role, he is an International almost at his peak ffs, he needs regular playing time not a Tello/quenca role. He said it himself, "there is no point stagnating at barca".

No one is saying Tello/quenca >>> afellay but these two are contempt with playing that kind of role in the team.

Afellay's competition is villa, alexis, pedro, cesc, iniesta, xavi and thiago. If he could muscle any of these players out of a position , he would have definately stayed

I know what you mean and your right, at his age Ibi should be playing and starting every week, with the players ahead of him he likely wouldn't get that. But I still think he should have been given a chance, he's been injured and having just come back he wasen't going to be giving world class performances for awhile.

What I worry about is that he will explode at Schalke and show just how good he is and then we would look like fools. I hope he suceeds at Schalke but if he does a Morientes against us in the CL I will lol, cry, but i'll also lol.

I'm pissed at this, I am a madrid fan but I want afellay to get a proper chance for obvious reasons. Why are they playing Sanchez over him?..

Afellay is definately imo a better overall player than Cuenca, Sanchez and telllo just through sheer experience and skill. He provides backup for the midfield and upfront however Tito has shown he is not interested in him therefore should be gone. We will regret the decision as I feel a big injury coming soon...

Afellay better than Alexis? Plu-ease. I like Afellay but dont be silly.

Its a shame Afellay is going though. He is without doubt a better player than Tello and Cuenca. Has considerable more tools.

But not to my surprise, we dont have to input any form of patience. Its a shame we arent always a meritocracy.

Does Fabregas bring the talent level required to run in our midfield.I am personally glad JDS stayed.I think he can become a quality player.
Loaning Afellay was a foolish move imo.We never gave him a chance with the first team.He should have gotten a consistent run of games this season and only then should the decision have been made.
Not a wise decision from a tactical point of view as he is a good depth player.

Total crap like Fontas and JdS stays and Afellay is loaned If Tito doesn't count on him, he should be sold, not loaned. It would be better to keep him than loaning out.

JDS and Fontas stayed because they chose to. Afellay left because he chose to.

Tito makes the decisions whether he wants to play them or not, Afellay was the wisest to move elsewhere to get time.

JDS and Fontas are not total crap, and our depth except at CB (with the Song incognite as a CB) is excelent this season. 11 made from subs:

Afellay goal is to get back into the Barca side. Going on loan was the best option for him to achieve that. Don't really see him coming back though do we need him or if Schalke put in a decent offer should we sell him?

He never got a decent chance like sanchez.. thats what pisses me off to no end. the 40mil flop is still rated higher then a hard worker with better technique
