I personally want to see them lose, for a couple of reasons. First, them losing is hilarious, second, Moyes getting the sack is hilarious, third, they might actually come good if they get a new manager, and they play City soon, that'll help us if they win. And be hilarious if they do.

Where is the flip flopping? Every post was directed at the hope Utd would lose.

You're more delusional than Moysies thinking his job is secure.

Moyles is walking a thinner tight rope than a circus performer.

Tosh. The great Sirs Alexander Ferguson and Robert Charlton will ensure Sir Davy M is backed implicitly. Especially after tonight's heroic scalp of European heavyweights Olympiakos

I really hope Fergie tells them to stick with Moyes, but he is on a thin rope, no one can have a season like that and not be in danger of getting the sack.

Re: The Official Rival Thread
it wouldn't make sense to sack Moyes now anyway. If a sack does occur, it will be at the end of the season, they are already out of every competition except for UCL anyway.

Is it really wishful thinking to hope United might surprise City & Bayern? Would be so awesome if Moyesy can pull it off

Not Bayern, that'd give Moyles too much hope but I'd love for them to beat City.

But it would absolutely cement his position for eons to come, and would knock out probably the tournament favourite, possibly to our later benefit, should we advance.
Not that it would ever happen I can honestly see this ending in double-digit aggregate

Re: The Official Rival Thread
Liverpool and City won, Liverpool can move within a point during their midweek game and City can move within 3 points. City still have the ability to move clear of us too, so we need Arsenal or Utd to beat them, or both.

Villa battered 4-1 at Villa Park by Stoke.
How in god's name did we lose to this rubbish?

It's really about mentality. Villa were tough to penetrate when they played us, and we played as though we already won the league. In this game, stoke and villa pretty much are level on points, I think villa relaxed after scoring and stoke still kept playing their game. Chelsea underestimates the lower opponents....

Re: The Official Rival Thread
Not at all. I'm just confused as to why Aston Villa are "rubbish" for having lost to a club that Chelsea lost to as well. That seems a rather harsh and myopic view on things.

Re: The Official Rival Thread
Yea but they were at home then, where most sides struggle. They were the away side today and blew away an opponent we were bobbins against not 7 days before.
We haven't lost to them at home....yet....
