Arteta-Ramsey midfield. Arteta-Flamini doesn't work that well.

If Ramires gets an early yellow, then life will be much simple.

we need defensive cover, and arteta doesn't bring that to the table like flamini does
thats what we saw in 6-3..  Rolling Eyes
Arteta is still the most important player at Arsenal.. only player who brings experience, leadership, calmness and control of the tempo of our game..
hate it or admit it, he is better than Flamini in almost all aspects..

pressure pressure intense pressure...
after yesterdays results this is a must win for us.. Everton too won.. 7 out of top 9 teams won this week.. could be the worst week in this season for Us or Chelsea dpending on who drops points..
i want Rosicky to start ahead of Cazorla.. but it wont happen.. Cazorla will start on LW.. and hope Poldi gets 30 mins on LW.. and i hope Walcott continues from where he started.. with Poldi and Walcott back to share he burden of scoring Giroud can drop deep and interlink..
and i am sure Fraudinho will come with some negative tactics for us to self destroy than trying to defeat us.. we must be wary of that and should not lose our concentration and composure..

I'm really not confident about this game judging by our last two and lo and behold after two poor performances we have to play a team who seem to always beat us regardless of whether we dominate them or they play badly.

I hope we can win but I hope more that we don't lose, a loss will be devastating for us.

I would Start Arteta and rest him on Wednesday. This Chelsea team is a beatable team we just have to take our chances. Stoke and Sunderland scored 9 goals on them in 3 games.

If we cant beat Chelsea at home, we should forget about the title.

Chelsea team is beatable but when you see Wenger v Mou stats then its another story and thats what worries me most. I really hope we win this but its going to be very tough to do so.

So many records were broken this year, this one is way overdue. We will trash them 3-1, I am hoping we play the way we did against Liverpool and put Chelsea in their place.
Theo with a double and Podolski will finish the game in the second half.

I don't question Flamini's heart and determination. But we'll be better off with Arteta in the midfield alongside Ramsey. Arteta will be more able to deal with the technicality of Chelsea's midfield imo. And Arteta brings a real good solidity and calmness to our midfield when he plays. We'll need him tonight.

But Artetta will not able to deal with the speed of oscar, matta and hazard. They will just run around him.

There are no plans to call the game off despite the weather. We've basically got constant heavy rain and winds up to 30 mph in London, which is causing a lot of travel disruption. The club advised fans to leave early a couple of hours ago. The only way the game will be called off is if the police decide it's unsafe for fans for whatever reason or if the pitch is waterlogged which, consdiering it's the Emirates pitch, is unlikely.

So yeah, don't worry about postponement.

Well, I've had a bout of the shits today. I need cheering up.

3am kick off here so trying to stay awake (just had 4 hours kip).

We must beat this lot tonight. We won't be out of it even if we lose, but 4th at Christmas will make me want to boot Santa in the nuts.

I'm sorry, but I hate Chelsea fans. Small team until the money came in and they think they are 'it'.

Still, at least there are some decent Chelsea fans still out there. Ahem.

Oh, the game.

Well, I'm sure Mata will start. He's the new Drogba in terms of goals against us. Hopefully,Santi is fully fit now. Maybe he needs to wear his Mario costume? If he isn't quite at it we can always throw on Poldi. I'm looking forward to seeing him link up with Mesut.

Chelsea's full backs are not great this season. Azpiliwatsit isn't all that. Ivanovic has been one of the best full backs in the PL in recent seasons, but he's having a Fellaini-esque season. Terry is dangerous at set plays but all over the place at times. Cahill is the only one who's shown any consistency. Their midfield is excellent to be fair, but up front is a problem for them. Thank god Lukaku isn't there.

If Poldi is fully fit I would be tempted to start him. I've just got a feeling that he will score tonight if he plays.

Don't get me wrong, REWB. I know your heart is in the right place and I don't think any Arsenal poster here is a bad fan but jumping on one player after any loss is a bit premature imo.

I agree that Vermaelen and Kos or V and Per always seem to concede because he's a bit hasty but I don't agree that he needs to be offloaded or that our loss to City was at all his fault. Too many forget how good he was for us two seasons ago when he came back and was our defensive messiah.
