Benzema or Suarez

Completely hypothetical but given their strengths and weaknesses who would be a better fit for Madrid's attack? Benzema or Suarez?

the safe answer would be , we cannot know until it happens, madrid is an elite club; players that have performed in other teams come to madrid and the pressure gets to them, players at madrid leave, and become huge stars on other teams....suarez' attitude is what separates him from those players who shrink under pressure, not only is he skilled, but he hates losing and that is a quality i admire....i prefer him to what we have now....but do not take my word for it, i've never been a fan of benzema, him, woodgate and graveson are 3 players i was 100 percent completely against signing .....i think suarez will fit, he's a fantastic player, physically tough, understands spanish so won't have any linguistic problem, and is very active even when his team is losing (sometimes too active, biting people and such).....i prefer that to passive stikers who just jog and are never in good striking positions

On form Benzema would be better for us than Suarez, though the latter is a better player.

Both are similar players, but when both are on form, it's 50/50. Right now Suarez has better form, which is why he might seem like a better option than Benzema.

Suarez and that pretty much goes without question. Not gonna go into who is more talented as both are really good footballers but I prefer Suarez's drive to Benzema's laid back approach.

N.B Suarez's "drive" can be interpreted in many ways...

I have problems with both.

Benzema- inconsistent due to a weak mentality. If he is not starting 100% of the time he mopes which creates this vicious cycle. mopes->doesn't play well->mopes because not playing well->plays even worse.

then it takes almost a miracle for him to put in a good performance to push him back on top and out of that cycle.

but when hes on, there is no striker imo who fits Madrid's attack better IMO.

Suarez- He is an aggressive, bulldog-type goalscorer. We have enough pace oriented goal scorers in Ronaldo and Bale, so will he be a good complement? It's possible but I doubt he could be a better complement than Benzema

At Madrid its going to be a given that hes going to be much less of a focal point and thus see much less of the ball with Ronaldo and Bale next to him, so will he be as effective as he is with Liverpool? Not sure I can say.

Then there is the always present possibility that he could do something absolutely insane like bite a player. Do we need the possibility of another reckless player in the mold of Pepe, Ramos, even Marcelo to an extent?

Suarez is a better striker, if not the best right now on form. Having said that Benz perhaps will continue till end of season. If he slips, Suarez is our summer signing.

Well we can't have both, Benzema has made that clear last summer when he forced Perez into a decision.

Suarez is the better player but i think Benz is more fit for our front three.

Just to be clear, Suarez is probably a better playmaker than he is a goal scorer. He can link up play as good as Benzema, if not better.

The reasons his "assists" are so low because he's played with scrubs his whole time he's been at Liverpool. I mean, Carroll, Downing... blah.

He can play this "false 9" crap the forum goes on about too.

From what I've seen no player at Madrid has the balls to yell at Ronaldo when he's in the wrong (like when he has a shot from 30 yards when there should be a pass for example). Suarez will have a go at him. That's the only "problem" I see with him at Madrid if you guys do sign him. You'll have to provide the big bucks though. If he signs a new contract, you're looking at Bale figures and even then, Liverpool probably won't accept as we won't be able to replace him. It all depends on the "buy out clause" on his contract when he signs it towards the end of the season / after the winter window.

If Liverpool don't make the CL, then Suarez will 90% want to leave this Summer. It's why he should wait before signing a new contract.

I always said we were better off signing Suarez last summer instead of 1-2 signings we made. He even wanted out and Liverpool asked Morata/Jese in return If I remember. Now we will have to cough up double the money next summer. Madrid will may still do that next summer
