Dude, you can't be serious
Define athleticism
Because I'm sure theres no basketball player for example that can beat a soccer player in a 5k/10k, or even a mile
Yeah because all footy players do is run, run and then run some more
Strength, agility, vertical leap, the usual... There are athletic players in the sport don't get me wrong, you just don't need it and the majority don't have it IMO... The NBA and NFL are prime examples of athletic leagues

But your not playing them in the same playing field bro. Football and basketball players can do the same training as soccer and I guarantee you they won't run a sub 5:30 mile or sub 21min 5k
Athletism is also endurance, pain tolerance, VO2 Max.. etc
Soccer has a huge aerobic component.. trust me, most basketball and especially football players could not stand the pace of the PL for instance.. they aren't built for it and will burn out after 40 mins..
All three of those sports demand completely different types of athleticism. By your logic middle and long distance runners are poor athletes, which aint true
Anyways back on topic

there are no timeouts in football either... in terms of endurance, there's nothing like football.

Re: Mario Balotelli
Balo making runs in behind the defence
Gil, you clown he doesn't make any runs behind the defense he constantly drops deep, which leaves us with no reference point up front. It's no surprise that we only start to play well, once Pazzini comes on.

Re: Mario Balotelli
He is often indolent , he tends to absent himself from the match and he seems don't expect nothing else that the match ends .
Then yes he is technically so very good that he can solve the game with a great shot last minute like yesterday . Pratically Alvaro Recoba - esque attitude.

Re: Mario Balotelli
As Cas says, one of the main tactical criticisms of Balotelli as a front man has been the infrequent tendency to make runs off the last man. One can certainly point to goals he's scored due to such runs, such as against Celtic or for Italy recently, however it is not something that he does with any consistency. One of the main reasons why Prandelli has persisted with his partnership with Osvaldo is that it allows Balotelli to play his more natural game by freeing him from the attention of the central defence and allowing him to drift deep due to the presence of a more classic centre forward. The alternative as Nick mentioned is to flank Balotelli with two genuine threats from the flank as has also been accomplished by Prandelli, albeit on few occasions, with the use of Cerci who rather than dropping deep will maintain a high position up the pitch to stretch the defence and provide a quick option in possession for Balotelli on the counter.
Seedorf realistically needs at least the summer transfer window and time to also work with El Shaarawy whose strengths and weaknesses he must also account for in order to decide how he wants to mould Balotelli. It remains to be seen whether or not he's the right tactician to do this, however at the very least I believe he's the right personality.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/blog/2014/mar/10/malaysia-airlines-flight-370-search-continues-live-updates
The two suspects who boarded the flight on missing passports have been identified by officials and are said to be of “non-Asian” appearance. Malaysia’s civil aviation chief Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said that CCTV images of the passengers boarding the flight showed that that one, or both of the men, resembled the black Italian footballer Mario Balotelli. Meanwhile, a Thai travel agent who booked them onto the plane, told the FT that the tickets were arranged with an “Iranian contact” on behalf of clients looking for cheap tickets to Europe.
A reporter asked Rahman, the civil aviation chief, to say “roughly” what they looked like. He replied “Do you know a footballer by the name of Balotelli [using an approximate pronunciation of the name]”.
Reporters shouted the the name Balotelli, pronouncing the name footballer’s name correctly. Rahman corrected his initial pronunciation, and said: “Balotelli, yes”.
He added that the nationality of the men could not be confirmed.

I love goal.com comments, seriously the best place if you want some insightful opinions on football.
<3 goal.com
I am not surprise even at Inter milan Balotelli was not a startr he was behind Eto'o, Millito and Pandev at City he was also behind Tevez, Aguerro so having Balotelli as Milan no.1 striker was a disater because majority of his goals comes from penalty
Always changing his stupid haircut and finding new b1tches every week.....i mean is he even focused on his football !!!!
there is only one 'super mario' and he is mario gomez
no penalty no penalotelli

nothing of new, he scores an Amazing goal (or in the best cases he plays a good month) and all praise him, then he disappears from radar (he has paid the ticket against Atletico? ) ,he comes back with a good performance&great goal and all praise him again forgetting the past poor performance. The black Recoba.
