I honestly think this'll be it for January. Its really not a month for squad-building as the best players aren't available and the few that are, are so at largely inflated prices. Summer is when I think we'll see the striker issue really addressed, as well as the other areas of the team that need tweaking.

Actually Suarez wouldn't work best as a lone striker. Scratch that

That may be true. Besides we had burnt our hands with one of their strikers but they go a better one from us . Suarez will only leave for RM.

As for other summer options - I prefer Cavani/Costa - PL teams playing with lone striker need one with good workrate & physic.  I am not sure If Falcao would be a good addition in that aspect(workrate). Also Lukaku hopefully returns as a seconf striker.

London Evening Standard are reporting that we'll move for Zouma next, placing a 10m pound bid for him. We'll loan him back to St Ettienne.

They're also reporting that we'll sign Shaw in the summer for 20m Pounds.

While KDB is having his medical at Wolfsburg today.

No, the possibility of us needing 'only a CF', as you stated, will be dependent on any potential departures this summer. For instance, if Essien and Lampard are released, will José want to sign another CM, even if only for quality in depth. If Luiz leaves, will he want a more experienced/established CB in to take his place over (going by your scenario) Zouma?

That does involve a few players leaving though: Schwarzer, Hilario, Eto'o all leave on free, Ba would be sold.

And TBH, add a quality CM to that, remove Lampard and you've got yourself one awesome team.
