Lol 2pac without a millisecond of hesitation. 2pac is the greatest rapper of all time. But Eminem is in my top 3. Eminem in his prime was up there with 2pac.

I like Eminem, but people in Windsor love him far too much, probably because Detroit is so close. His music just gets forced down your throat around here. Has to be Tupac.

Re: Eminem vs Tupac
2pac is far more influential and is a better song writer, but most importantly he brings that element that no can can replicate. Prime Eminem on the other hand is more skilled as an MC but he just isnt pac. Dont get me wrong Eminem is easily top 5 of all time but pac is pac
my top 5
1-Pac
2-Rakim
3- Eminem, Big Pun, Nas

Re: Eminem vs Tupac
Don't have anything against Pac, love his first few albums but looking at both of them technique-wise, lyrics, flow, story telling etc... Em wins in most of these categories imo.
Therefore my vote goes to Eminem. Both are in my top 3 with Nas.
(I'm of of course comparing prime Eminem, not this new shit he's doing with Rihanna etc.)

lmao.
I don't really want to get involved this but its not even close lol.
2pac shouldn't have to deal with such trauma, let the man rest in peace and compare Eminem to people who are not miles better than him lmao.

I don't have a major opinion on this, but let's face it. No matter what the profession is, when somebody who was very well thought of dies they get more and more rated by people across the world
Eminem is at a disadvantage from the get-go really.

Re: Eminem vs Tupac
Romanticise the past? Eminem had one great album.
He's extremely overrated because he's white and i'm white before anyone starts lol.
Tupac was one of the most influential rappers ever and had at least 3 GOAT albums before his untimely death.
Nothing to do with Romantising or people overrate people who died he's just nowhere near him.
The funny thing is i really like Eminem and listen to Marshall Mathers LP a lot but lets be real its like comparing Van Basten to Torres.

Re: Eminem vs Tupac
It has nothing to do with 2pac passing away...I'm fairly upset this thread was created in the first place. Nothing against Eminem (I am a fan) however I don't find it to be close. I just find that 2pac was way more influenctial and his lyrics were as deep as they come.

Re: Eminem vs Tupac
I won't give a definite answer on this one.
I will only say that as a kid growing up (I'm still a kid growing up ) I listened to songs such as My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Without Me, Lose Yourself and Stan and needless to say they have really grown on me and I consider them classics.
I'm a big Eminem fan, and I wasn't around in the Pac/Biggie era. Maybe if I was I "would've known better". Sure I listen to some Pac songs. Dear Mama, Shorty Wanna Be A Thug and Changes are to me classics as well. But I have not listened as much of his songs as I have Eminem songs. And therefore I really can't compare them and give a definite answer if you ask me who's better.
Though, if you ask me between Eminem and Pac, who is my favourite. I'll say Eminem. Because I consider Eminem to be my greatest rapper of all time. #AbsoluteLegend #Genius

Disagree your expectations of great must be a lot lower than mine....M99 wrote:You saw my opinion on my post above but that is just plain wrong.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Romanticise the past? Eminem had one great album.

Marshall Mathers LP was great without a doubt it was a fantastic album but the rest range from average to decent.
What you are saying is that one of Devil's Night, Eminem Show, D12 World, Encore, Relapse and Recovery were great and in reality none of them were.
I actually love Eminem but he shouldn't mentioned in the same sentence as Tupac.

Re: Eminem vs Tupac
Eminem Show was definitely great, as was Slim Shady LP. Those were fantastic albums while MMLP 2 and Encore fall under very good. Marshall Mathers LP is legendary, one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time and he never topped that. Even still, he was damn good.
Comparing Eminem and Pac is like comparing Van Basten with Pele.
