Nas, 2Pac and Biggie Smalls were the best rappers of all time... Pretty close between Nas and 2Pac for me at least and Biggie a very distant 3rd.

You saw my opinion on my post above but that is just plain wrong.
Disagree your expectations of great must be a lot lower than mine....

Marshall Mathers LP was great without a doubt it was a fantastic album but the rest range from average to decent.

What you are saying is that one of Devil's Night, Eminem Show, D12 World, Encore, Relapse and Recovery were great and in reality none of them were.

I actually love Eminem but he shouldn't mentioned in the same sentence as Tupac.

The Eminem Show continues to be underrated by many. One of the best albums i've ever heard.

Why does Infinite always get overlooked when discussing Em? Sure the Nas influence is obvious but lyrically its his best.

Yeah this one. Eazy-E went hard, was ruthless as fck.

Infinite was a bit different. Much rawer Em and I liked it.

For those who are not familiar with pac's music, Better Days (album) would be a great start. The album preserved the message of pac while sounding modern for the younger listener.

Problem with this discussion is that young hip hop heads can't judge anything without living in that era.

Pac basically opened up the way for gangster rap, and was the voice of the unfairly treated

Just look at the rappers who were in the game during Pac's era, and he outshined them all. Personally I appreciate Biggie's rap skills more but I can see how someone can appreciate Pac's work much more. Also Pac as a person was incredible, the history of his life, his personality etc.

Eminem isn't even close to that.

Not real hard to destroy that career, considering 50 was able to probably says enough.

Not that Em's role in it wasnt outstanding, his lines went in.

Why am I reading 2Pac by a mile? Eminem is the greatest lyricist of all time by far. He has bodied every single rapper on every song he has featured on. Let's be honest if Em and Pac made a song together we all know who would have the better verse or verses and it is quite obvious.

Pac can't freestyle like him either just listen to Despicable or his his second verse on his Westwood freestyle. Nuts.
Em beats him for technique as well. You have all heard his flow on Renegade.
And Eminem has one great album? um pls go lol. So don't get this lack of credit Em is getting in this thread.

As for Pac. He too is a genius and in my top 3. His music was revolutionary and he is/was a lot more influential. His music is something a lot of people can relate to especially at the time. His charisma is unmatched as well. Pretty poetic guy. Tbh I would have to give consistency to Pac as well, but I guess Em peaked early.

Both my favourite rappers ever. So hard to choose, but because I rate word play and lyricism above everything else I rate Em higher.

1-Eminem
2-2pac
3- Nas
4-Biggie

Like I said, death plays a big part whether people like to admit it or not. Doubt it's the case for everybody here but if it was Eminem who died instead, I think this debate would be quite different.

They're both in a lot of peoples top 2 though so it's ok either way.

Not a fanboy of any sort but personally I prefer a lot of Eminems work, particularly from years ago. Now, meh.

And how is being a white rapper that is also the most popular rapper in pop music not a bigger advantage than Pac's death?
