Ancelotti: 'Juve caused us problems'
Carlo Ancelotti reveals Juventus forced Real Madrid to make adjustments and is confident they’ll qualify.
“We defended too deep in the first half, as Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio’s positions were causing us a few problems,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-2 draw in Turin.
“We didn’t pressure them in midfield, but changed that at half-time and it went much better.
“We are improving, even if there are still amnesias in defence and at times we lose our balance, but the second half was good.”
Ancelotti is confident Juve will get through to the knockouts after Galatasaray lost in Copenhagen. This leaves Galatasaray and Copenhagen on four points with the Bianconeri on three.
Juve would therefore qualify if they beat Copenhagen in Turin and earned a point in Istanbul, as long as Real Madrid defeated Galatasaray.
“Juventus will certainly qualify, even if it’s not easy to get a point in Turkey, but they have more quality than Galatasaray.
“There is only one path at the Bernabeu and that’s for a Real Madrid victory!”
