If you mean that Clarke's return would tighten up our defence, keep in mind that West Brom had a better defensive record under Hodgson than Clarke

Agger's been inconsistent as hell since Clarke has left, as has Skrtel (who's only really found consistency this season) and we've been a joke at set pieces since he's been gone.

I think nishank had the stat where 50% of our conceded goals are from set pieces - that's a worry.

Rodgers really doesn't have a clue on how to set up defensively. There's a reason we've attempted to play with 9 men behind the ball. You only really need 6-7 players back (8 max) when we don't have the ball.

Let's just hope he accepts not being as a "manager" and accepts the offer (if we ever do offer it). We definitely left on good terms and Dalglish is back at the club.

Clarke offered his resignation after KD was sacked but FSG rejected it. Rodgers then came in, and pretty much sacked him to get Pascoe in. One can still hope.

ah but Pastore has played midfielder in PSG .. now I have understood  because he played badly ... for me he is good only if he plays behind forward, not to midfield , as it is for Kaka (as you say in English "trequartista " ? )  , and infact the Argentinian was considered the player closest ,  most similar to the Brazilian

We need him in-between the midfield and attack - just like you said like that Kaka role.

Pastore supports the midfield duo (which he did with Palermo) as HE DOES close down the opposition and is genuinely quality in the final third - that's why I'm confident he'll be the best fit in January.

I don't know if you saw the Spurs game, but Coutinho was quite poor until Sandro came off (where he wasn't really "poor" but wasn't at his maximised best). He only really got his game going (which was a good game, it has to be said) when there was space in the middle. Pastore doesn't need that space to be effective. That's why I'd rather Javier comes in and that let's Coutinho play on the left hand side as an 'inside forward'.

Are there any genuine rumors that link us to Pastore, or is he just someone you want?

The one I want is KDB, but it seems as if he's going to play under Sami. (No links about KDB to Liverpool.)

With that said, there are rumours about Pastore being a genuine target, albeit only on loan with an option to buy.

I'd rather buy a CM than an attacking midfielder. We've got Coutinho and Henderson and I think that's plenty up-field link-up play between midfield and attack. Lucas and Allen are a weaker area than Coutinho and Henderson and I'd rather have more competition for places in those CM positions.

Is Benitez in charge of transfers at Napoli because he's pissing me off.

First he loans Reina, tries to loan Skrtel at the end of the summer, and now tries to loan Daniel Agger. Piss off.

I am not sure about Jan window but summer window will see some major decisions regarding CBs because as we have discussed previously, we have too many of them currently
(including the injured ones). I think it will be in good interest to keep toure, sakho, skrtel and Agger for this season at least. I mean if one of the sakho & skrtel gets injured, we wont survive without Agger. There is no way Agger will be leaving in Jan unless BR has Ilori in his mind

I am not convinced by Hendo at all to play AM position regularly, i think his future lies in CM position OR in a midfield duo who will play in front of the controller in the midfield of three.

Hendo is versatile enough to play any role, but won't be a guaranteed starter as he has no real "fixed" position. Hendo will be class, but I think he'll be PL class, not "Europe class". Definitely has a role in the future of this club but he's practically our Milner. We need to improve on him in the starting XI.  

In that AM role as he's no real threat to the opposition. Yes, he can make runs, but he turns average once he gets into the final third. Look at his goal for example, he really should of scored that 1 on 1. Go back to Arsenal at the Emirates, it was 0-0, missed a 1 on 1, he's missed a lot more too. He simply can't shoot, he can work on in training all he wants, he lacks the composure to execute. Which is a shame, because I enjoy watching his celebrations when he eventually does score.

@McAgger: The loan enquiry has been made. Tony Barrett is reliable, as is Di Marzio from Sky Italy. (He didn't get much wrong in Europe, and knows his stuff.) That's not to say we'll accept, but Napoli DID put in a loan bid. Personally hope we don't get rid of him, every "top" club needs at least 3 class CBs to succeed. In the Premier League, any way.

Liverpool reject loan bid and say he's not even up for sale. Good.

Let's put in a loan offer for Marek Hamsik. He'll win us the league.

I know there is always plenty of bs about our players leaving but the fact that we have a chance to strengthen the first team is always exciting.

this guy fernando always looked quality to me whenever I have seen him playing for Porto in CL. But i have seen so limited games so not sure how good actually he is. Any idea if we are getting the player that we want to replace Lucas in case Lucas is not performing ???

@Ifti well there's no doubt that they would be relentless at their wishes. However it's not a holiday mood anymore this in a way is adding to the pressure

@Heil well haven't seen anything reliable about this rumor but Salah and Reges seems to be the 2 names making the rounds seriously!

Yeah I'm reading a lot of Reges and Salah. Don't know how much they'd improve the first team really as I haven't seen too much of either. Fernando I've seen only in CL and he looks a player but Salah I've never watched extensively.
