For the first time in my life i thought about returning this for PES. However the patch made the game much better thankfully.

There are 50 times more flaws in this than there were in fifa13 IMO. but there are better things in it too so it's bitter sweet.

Still going to spend hours playing and ranting in any case.

Tbh I feel like a lot of you just want the PERFECT football game a.k.a experiencing what players experience on the pitch. What you haven't realised is, that's NEVER going to happen. It may(MAY!) come close but neither PES nor FIFA will give you the perfect football experience. You guys pick on even the tiniest things I don't even notice There's always going to be one flaw or the other. The earlier you come to terms with this, the better it'll be for you. You're not going to get a REAL football experience.

Except its a kinect game in an open space or something...

Is anyone else always offside in this game? Just lost 1-0 to newcastle in the cup and Ricky Lambert alone finished with 6 offsides and i took him off after 70mins

Southampton are a good choice for manager mode though, decent budget available and plenty of quality players adn your goal for the first season is mid table and round of 32 in the cup

I think it is possible. That's what both FIFA and PES are trying to do. Both are simulations. However as I said before, they're either delaying making the perfect game so they can have new features every year, or they're still developing the ideal code, or they just don't watch football games and make the game based on what they think football is.

I dont know if people are looking for perfection or not, but there will never be perfection.

The fact is, there is nothing anyone can do to replicate true decision making. That is football, decision making, and there is nothing you can do in a game to replicate it.

But I dont think its too much to ask that most of the goals dont feel similar, that's not football. PES manages it, so should FIFA.

And similarly for PES, it has flaws FIFA doesnt have. So, you can ask the question as to why.

In my opinion Konami have got a great base to work on with PES while EA seem to be injecting year after year on the same engine which I think is very scripted and lacks the freedom of PES.

Having said that, Konami don't have the financial power EA possess, so technologically they've been far behind and also seem to be rushing their games every year. You play PES 2014 and when everything is working it gives you a buzz but unfortunately most of the time gameplay is hindered by many bugs and AI issues that should have been ironed out prior to release.

Let's not go into online, performance related issues and licenses because FIFA wins hands down.

I won't go in to it too much but despite being the designated fk taker on clubs last year and scoring loads of them, at least 20 more than whoever was 2nd, I can't get a FK

Last game, again upfront. I had 1 shot out of 12, and I pass a lot. I expect a little bit of that in return.

Clubs is best with 3-4 players. That way everyone can get an equal amount of time on the ball.

Also there was excessive dribbling tonight and not much tracking back.

There are obviously going to be improvements or small changes at least year in year out, considering FIFA 14 is light years ahead of FIFA 2002 gameplay wise. They may also have a really really good overall package in store(like I said in the last thread) but it makes no sense to just give you everything at once. They might as well give you their best simulation and declare bankruptcy while they're at it.

When a lot of you learn to take your mind off the tiniest things, you might actually enjoy both games better. I'm highly critical of PES but I don't nitpick, and I certainly don't nitpick with FIFA either. Most of the stuff I complain about are obvious. Saves me unnecessary headache

Through balls especially over the top through balls are so OP. Your defenders just stand there without even moving ffs.

Also, when you try to turn your players they move so slowly its such a pain.
