According to Sky Sports (picked up by AS), Bale has returned to London this morning as no agreement was reached with Madrid. He is supposed to meet with Levy to look at offers from other teams.

The British press will care very little for Bale when he moves overseas. They still report about Ronaldo and Balotelli because they're interesting characters with interesting personal lives.

Until its official they haven't actually signed for us and they are model professionals who do the morally right thing to do by going to training until it becomes official which I suspect will be tomorrow because we have a game on Thursday and we play at home in the weekend so our schedule is tight as it is. We can't announce it today either as we have a game

Ignoring all that shit about tennis players. The British media is very much England-orientated. It obsesses over English players, English football and loves interesting characters that have played in the PL, which is why Balotelli and Ronaldo still make the headlines just as they did when they actually plied their trade here.

Bale hardly ever makes the news outside of the sports sections, yet you deluded RM fans seem to think he's going to be big news in the British media simply because he's moving to Madrid. It isn't going to happen. They care nothing about his dull personal life at present and a move to Spain isn't going to change that.

Bale is just a generic player who isn't popular, isn't known outside of football like Ronaldo and Beckham etc. However I think that's a good thing, footballers should be footballers, not celebrities.
