Hopefully the other club who are interested end up signing him. It's probably Man Utd.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
The ones who say that Bale isn't as marketable as Ronaldo. Guess what? It doesn't matter because this transfer will be supported and funded by the best hyping machine in the world, the British media. They will take care of the hyping him and call him the second coming of Jesus or maybe to a lesser extent the next Ronaldo and a real rival for Messi. Doesn't matter if he truly is that good or not (he is still quite good tho despite of his inflated price tag). A lot of casual football fans in UK and USA specially are going to believe it anyway and buy his shirt. Just like with Beckham, who was also quite one trick pony. Nobody would have care about him without his look and kicking abilities.

2. anyone with two eyes and half a brain can see Bale is nowhere NEAR Crono or Messi's level, I don't care how casual a fan you are
3. Beckham was marketable worldwide because he had good looks and an equally famous and beautiful wife. Bale has none of these, so Madrid'll have to rely on his football to cash in on him

The same British media that give more attention to Balotelli, Ronaldo and Rooney? Even Peter Crouch and his missus get more exposure than Bale does.Error wrote:The ones who say that Bale isn't as marketable as Ronaldo. Guess what? He's all over the papers due to the ridiculous numbers being thrown around. Madrid can't adverstise him as "The £86 million pound signing" forever

Arsenal's continued failings in the transfer market has got more attention. So has Wayne Rooney's family of mutants day out.aleumdance wrote:have you been on daily Mail the past 3 weeks?The_Badger wrote:The same British media that give more attention to Balotelli, Ronaldo and Rooney? According to Sky Sports (picked up by AS), Bale has returned to London this morning as no agreement was reached with Madrid. He is supposed to meet with Levy to look at offers from other teams.
How reliable is Sky Sports?

About 50% more like.
And why would he consider a move elsewhere when he's already claimed he wants to move to RM?

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
The British press will care very little for Bale when he moves overseas. They still report about Ronaldo and Balotelli because they're interesting characters with interesting personal lives.aleumdance wrote:mate the media talks about Arsenal cuz they are obsessed with us, British media I mean.. they never stoppedThe_Badger wrote:Arsenal's continued failings in the transfer market has got more attention. Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Lol badger
if Bale does good he will be the first British player who has done very well overseas in a long time. You don't think he will get more attention that Balo
Murray isn't exactly "interesting" compared to Nadal (attractive), Djokovic (funny) and Fedrer (multiple sponsorship appearances and attractive) actually he doesn't even fit the criteria you have posted yet there are always millions of articles about him. They have foreign stuff because they are not stricly patriots
its like swedish papers predominantly about other teams and footballers but never goes a week without an Ibra story. even if all it was was him scoring a screamer in training

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
so did Illaramendi wouldn't put too much into that. Until its official they haven't actually signed for us and they are model professionals who do the morally right thing to do by going to training until it becomes official which I suspect will be tomorrow because we have a game on Thursday and we play at home in the weekend so our schedule is tight as it is. We can't announce it today either as we have a gamesportsczy wrote:Sky Sports article also says that Bale is expected to return to Spurs' practice tomorrow... so there is a gawd?

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Ignoring all that shit about tennis players. The British media is very much England-orientated. It obsesses over English players, English football and loves interesting characters that have played in the PL, which is why Balotelli and Ronaldo still make the headlines just as they did when they actually plied their trade here.halamadrid2 wrote:Lol badger

Bale hardly ever makes the news outside of the sports sections, yet you deluded RM fans seem to think he's going to be big news in the British media simply because he's moving to Madrid. It isn't going to happen. They care nothing about his dull personal life at present and a move to Spain isn't going to change that.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Bale is just a generic player who isn't popular, isn't known outside of football like Ronaldo and Beckham etc. However I think that's a good thing, footballers should be footballers, not celebrities.

There isn't, however for Real Madrid I prefer players who are footballers and not popular celebrities who are in newspapers every day.
