Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
you know, this might turn out well for football..
bale's price has put so much joke into it that some slight itch of reality will hit the clubs and they will finally say " have we been this retarded with prices".. they egt so embarrased that clubs start charging RATIONAL prices to save the dignity of Football...
one can always dream...

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Yeah right... when have transfer prices ever fallen? How about never. As long as there are buyers, the price will stay up. With the increase in revenue and the emergence of international investors, the money's getting bigger, not smaller.
With the growing spending power of fans in Asia and now South America, the clientele is increasing, not decreasing.

UEFA could have controlled this with FFP, but they did not even bother to "implement" the idea,...
I am a Madrid fan, but not Spanish but if I were Spanish with High Youth Unemployment rate and I see madrid going to buy a PLayer for 90Million i would be pissed off, big time

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
The thing is, Madrid and Barca being such big brands helps Spain in a lot of ways... It allows most people in Spain to have something they are proud of. Takes you their minds away from the problems.
Also, at least in Madrid's case, the club is self-sustaining. Cash infusion by investors is not allowed other than debt... and Madrid has very good debt to equity ratio and debt coverage ratio. So it really isn't the problem.
The issue, like with most of world society right now, is that the gap of the wealthy and not so wealthy is becoming more and more enormous. FFP is too flawed and incomplete to re-establish better equality. It would take revolutionary steps from the football world governing bodies + buy in from all the top clubs with this revolution... that's not happening any time soon. Just look at Europe in general... with very few exceptions, it is completely inept at dealing with crisis.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Only delayed until Spurs signs a "replacement" after missing out on Willian.
Madrid's the only stupid club to spend over 70m on him. They're the only ones in it.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
I agree, there's nobody else in it. However, notice that fee of 70m you mentioned. If he wasn't actually being sold for 100m, we'd all be talking about 45 mil for him. That's how ridiculous this situation has become.something-red wrote:Only delayed until Spurs signs a "replacement" after missing out on Willian.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
I've already admitted he's overpriced.
I personally think he'll flop there, as he's half the player of Ronaldo.
But Madrid seems like that want all the attention they can get after failing to get that 10th CL they promised last year.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
this. Zidane is already talking of him as a Madrid player. he wouldn't do this if Spurs were considering other offers and we were still in negotiations. We are not Chelseasomething-red wrote:Only delayed until Spurs signs a "replacement" after missing out on Willian.

They are just waiting to agree terms with Roma over Lamela before they let go of him
Bale is just doing an Illaramendi by going back to 'work' because it hasn't been made official yet

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
We seem to have plans for him which sure as hell are not footballing ones as we are not desperate in need of an attacker enough to pay double his worth. Only our management know why they have done this as if we needed a striker for footballing reasons we would've bough Suarez who was cheaper and is better and better suited to usForza wrote:I agree, there's nobody else in it. Madrid are indirectly putting the final nail in Arsene Wenger's coffin by giving Spurs so much money.
