Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Even at that price Madrid would have to sell 1,269,841 kits over the course of his contract to see a return on investment. Even if there is just a 500,000 increase in shirt sales it'll be considered a success as far as shirt sales are concerned. That is not where the real money is anyway.The_Badger wrote:Unless of course it's utter bullshit.

£63.00 for a Adult home shirt with "Soldado 9" on the back and I'm supposed to believe your "mate" bought his kid one for £94.00!
EDIT: Interestingly enough, a RM home shirt with "Ronaldo 7" is £53.33!

Why does it become a moot point if he performs on the pitch? Does the 100m and his obscene annual salary disappear if he bangs in a few goals?

Where the real money is though doesn't have much interest on Bale whether he's at RM or not.Zealous wrote:Even at that price Madrid would have to sell 1,269,841 kits over the course of his contract to see a return on investment. Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
So it does looks like its going to happen by a crazy amount.... will this be another piece of bad business by Perez? I just dont see how Real will be able to 'milk' fromt his deal, Bale isnt anywhere going to be as popular. Hes class but I just dont see how he can fit into the team effectively. Ancelotti will have to change his 11 to fit him in or do crazy amount of rotation.
If they try to settle him in it will take some time which I hope would disrupt their results

I like how a lot of Barce fans are taking the moral high ground even Tata himself lmao
Especially when Barcelona spend €57m on a player who is in his last year of his contract when they have over €50M! in unpaid taxes ffs.
Hilarious.

Marketability in football depends on your performance on the pitch and conduct off it. If Bale does not score goals or does not produce brilliant performances, then his marketability goes down and his ability to command a premium in endorsement deals and other image rights will diminish, no matter how brilliant Perez is.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
I'm having a blast with the desperation of some fans in miserably trying to justify the price tag by claiming Bale is a marketable footballer
The main thing about this transfer that has turned people's head around is the price tag, period - not the player's ability or swagger. Because there are at least 30 footballers who surpass the Welshman in that regard.
He is not in the same league as Cristiano, hell, he ain't even close to Kaká (back in the days).

We have a contract with them through the 2019-2020 season. Nothing is getting renegotiated. We're locked in.

Flo know his stuff in terms of finances. I have absolutely zero doubt we'll make money off of Bale. We have zero issues financially...
It's the footy side that always has and always will baffle me with Flo and this is no different.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Zidane has not a care in the world. just confirmed Bale is a madrid player and the most expensive in the world lmao"I know what it is to be the world's most expensive player and I hope to offer advice and act as mentor (Bale)," Zidane said to Sunday people.
"There's always a lot of expectation when it comes to a big operation. As a player you do not ever think of the figure, but there is a hysteria that accompanies it. The biggest story of the summer was Gareth Bale, as chips for a club like Real Madrid attention becomes more intense, "said Carlo Ancelotti's assistant.
"My door is always open for him during his first season and will have to use it."
Finally 'Zizou' is convinced of the enormous potential of Bale. "He was among the three best players in Europe last season, but can reach higher levels. This is a player who can be the best for the next four or five years. "

Yea. We find ways to get the liquidity required to do what we need to do. I don't know why some people think that's evil. If you're a institution that turns a massive profit every single year and has never defaulted on a loan - people are going to invest.The_Badger wrote:Nah, RM will strike some corrupt deal with local governments, to go along with their mind-boggling TV deal.Lex wrote:Has this financial homicide happened yet?
No one wants the TV situation to change more than us. As it stands we have the least global network of any major league. You think that helps us? A collective agreement would be huge for the league...and for us. We're just looking for an agreement where we don't get completely screwed in the process.
There has to be some proportion, some reward for the money you bring in, some reward for higher places. As it stands clubs simply want to tax us for being better than them at making money. That's not enough, they have to show some initiative of their own.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
If the Spanish federation was not completely incompetent and corrupt, Barca and Madrid would be stupid not to share revenue on media... but it is so awful that, even with a pot of gold, i doubt they get anything done.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
exactly
Real Madrid have been pushing for earlier starts which would be beneficial as that would allow us to enter the Asian market but at this rate they will never get it done (apart from games here and there) and laligas appeal in that part of the world will decrease

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
RM are already the biggest club in the world. If you truly believe the money the club will lose through a centralised TV deal will be subsidised by increased exposure in a market elsewhere in the world that already has an obsession with England and the PL, then RM fans are more deluded than I thought.Le Samourai wrote:Because further success and globalization of the league will augment our earnings.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Willian is more marketable than Bale ffs. All Mourinho has to do is convince everyone he's the next Ronaldinho. He automatically becomes a starter for the Brazil NT because he's playing for a Top 5 club and voila....

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Poor logic. This is an open market and leagues fights for more exposure. The most viewed league's wont stay the same for ever..Italian league was by far the most popular league back then what happened to it now?
Having a collective deal will give the league more exposure and viewers.plus all that are irrelevant, the new La liga deal expected to sign in 14-15 is worth around 1.3 billion and RM and Barca are expected to get around 155 mill Euros...so yeah with a centralized TV deal we will be earning more than we earn now.
