Mate, it would also happen to Barca.

Look at Celtic - Barcelona last year. Celtic are excatly the same as the relegation fodder in PL. Sh*t teams, who are dangerous on Set pieces.

And Barca lost away, almost failed to beat them at home.

Barca lost to hercules 0-2 at home the same season they won the CL and league. there are tons of these examples. one result doesnt mean anything in the big picture

You wont see clubs reach 100 points in consecutive seasons in PL, mate.

You can't take a few games and say a league is unpredictable. For example look at the Bundesliga right now. Werder Bremen sit on 6 points and played well against Dortmund. HSV and Schalke - two teams who many thought would do well both sit at 1 point. this includes HSV lusing 5-1 to Hofenheim and Schalke losing 4-0 to Wolfsburg. Even if you look at last year Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt made the EL and this year it isn't going so well for either of them (albeit Frankfurt beat Brausnchweig today).

You can't say the PL is more popular than other leagues because of the unpredictability.

newly bought rich clubs that attract large ammounts of fans in combination with historical clubs with an already settled foreign fanbase

also maybe the hooligans of old times created the path for how passion for football affects your emotions and drags you in for good

The team we had last season would've finished mid table.

Premiership is so popular because it's marketed well. There really aren't that many world class players in it.

If we came out and attacked them, they would've destroyed us. With the comparitbale resources it's what you would expect us to do. The cannon fodder in the EPL are spending tens of millions on players.

The Premiership can be good to watch but players wise compared to other top leagues in Europe it has less world class players.

I also wonder why we're talking about world class players alone. On that front, Messi & Ronaldo are worth 5 world class players each.

This is about overall great to good players around the league. You cannot deny that the PL has more of players like that.

Oh really? You probably should watch the BL once for a while. Or would you expect results like freshly promoted Hertha 6:1 vs Frankfurt who ended up barely missing the CL spot last season or the fight between Schalke and HSV which actually started with Schalke's lead until HSV valiantly fought back to lead themselves, but none of the teams gave a quarter and finally drew? Similarly Hoffenheim vs Freiburg was a stunner yesterday, starting 1:0 for Hoffenheim, while Freiburg fought back until 2:3 until they settled for a draw. Moreover, that game was so intense that it finished with 10 players to 9, just like Hannover vs Schalke ^^

It's not just about the odd results, it's the performances, if you actually watch the games relegation fodder teams actually fight & believe they can beat title contenders.

I enjoy watching it but the some of the players aren't that good technically but make up for it with power. Don't get me wrong there is still some fantastic players in the league.

We will agree to disagree about where Celtic would've finished last season which is pretty irrelevant to the main topic of this thread,

And you think that is not true for the Bundesliga? Heck, in 1997/98, freshly promoted Kaiserslautern managed to win the Bundesliga and in 2008, freshly promoted Hoffenheim were Herbstmeister (leading the BL at halftime up to the winter break) and they were only stopped when their main striker got injured. Or Borussia M'gladbach who had to play in the relegation play-offs in 2011, reached 4th place of the BL in 2012. When was the last time stuff like this happened in the PL?

Yea Barca lost to Celtic so in turn does that mean the Champions League last year was stronger then ever? No.

When United lost to Basel everyone said the Champions League was weaker then it had been in a long time. Your logic holds no water.

In one breath you want to tell us how good your league is because Cardiff beat up on Man City and Chelsea almost losing (which I really don't get) and then in the next breath when people talk about how the top of your league cannot compete with La Liga you will use Man City and Chelsea as proof that they can.

You want to have it both ways but you can't.

I know reading is probably very difficult for you but if you get a headache just pop a couple Advil and try to push on reading past the first two sentences.

It will be OK, the more you read the better you become at it. Don't give up, reading is FUNdamental.

Yeah but until recently Bundesliga was marketed awfully, i do like the Bundesliga i watch it every weekend but for a league to get popular you need more than just a good footballing product.

100% agreed, that's why I mentioned that the real driving power behind the PL's success is the marketing.

I was just a bit piqued by the insinuation that it is the PL alone where smaller teams "actually fight & believe they can beat title contenders". And believe they may, while in the BL this is no problem either - and the smaller teams actually can make it far, unlike the PL where the top spots 1-6 are practically locked.

we could have this arguement, all long,, but its I don't believe its only marketting

cuz if it due to marketting, football fans would know they are watching $hit and move to other leagues,

personally for me its the pace of the game, football fans like tactics but we want to be entertained, that what gets the pull, i know people who can't watch a serie a game cuz honestly the over tacticness can become a bore-fest.. just play
