Henry or Drogba?

Who was the better all around player?

Henry was the better finisher and proffessional but Drogba has him beat in every other category.

Most important statistic is

Henry: 5 finals 0 goals
Drogba: 9 finals 9 goals


Just a better big game player. The very best always show up when it matters against the very best teams in the biggest games.

So yeah Henry will go down as the better player in the record books but if I'm playing Barcelona or Bayern Munich next week me and any sane person is simply taking Drogba over Henry.

Can't be only two goals although he definitely should have scored more against Barca.

He scored in both legs in the group stages in 06/07 and in the home leg in 2011.

Still doesnt excuse the performance in 09 though. Went for the dive/pen on about 2/3 occasions rather than putting the game out of Barca's reach.

Drogba could have been the best of his generation, but he wasn't consistent enough and he wasn't at the top level for long enough.

Anyway if you want to go by statistics how about this.....

Henry scored nearly 400 goals and 200 assists.

And one year he scored 32 goals and 24 assists.

Also Henry wasn't just the best striker at one point in his career.... he was the best f*cking player.

There isn't even an comparison, its like me saying Shearer was better than R9.

Lets say 3 and 9, as you said not good. He was overall quite easily nullified by us, though not 100% fault, part of it the incredibly negative tactics you played.

Anyway, he wasnt better than Henry. Stats, eye test, whichever way, he wasnt better.

Henry has destroyed Man Utd, Madrid, Inter, and others. Its not like he was unable to play against the best, like your insinuating he did not.

I really cant even make an arguement for Drogba in this.

Henry EASILY. This isn't even a debate. No disrespect to Drogba, whom I like a lot, but Henry was the best player on the planet at one point.

Henry is widely considered to be the best striker to play so far in the Premier League era... Drogba was great also but it's no contest.

Only thing I'd say Drogba had/has over Henry is heading ability. Bout it, really
