Re: Wayne Rooney transfer saga
He's on 250k a week lol.
He'll kill your structure of the wage bill.
Walcott, Cazorla, Wilshere and co will want parity of Rooney's wages.
With that said, go for him. More of a chance of getting Wayne than Luis. I'm also one of the few that rate Rooney on this forum... I think he's as good, if not better than Luis if used right. (And that's coming from someone who rates Luis A LOT.)

Yeah. Not surprised. By what Jose is saying, we're not going to give up on Rooney yet.something-red wrote:He used to be.Kick wrote:

Re: Wayne Rooney transfer saga
Chelsea will fight for the league if they get him.
Worst part is, with the likes of Oscar, Lukaku, van Ginkel, Hazard, Azpilcueta, Courtios, Mata all relatively young, it look's like a promising future for Chelsea.

Never thought I would see the day when Chelsea fans and Arsenal fans fight one another over Rooney.

Mourinho:
"There is no time limit," said Mourinho.
"We have our squad of strikers. We have identified the player as one we would look to have with us."
"We are doing things legally, making the official bid directly to the club, no interviews or comments or direct relations with the player, no contact, absolutely nothing.
"We have done it in an ethical way and we are going to do that until the last day. And we will see how it comes."

Re: Wayne Rooney transfer saga
Manchester United have taken the top-level decision that Wayne Rooney will not be sold to Chelsea no matter how much money is offered or whatever the potential risks of keeping an unhappy player. Their stance is irreversible and will represent a significant setback for José Mourinho, who had been under the impression a deal to take him to Stamford Bridge was only a matter of time.

Re: Wayne Rooney transfer saga
Fair enough if Moyes is going to have Rooney as regular starter, but if Moyes is going to keep Rooney as back-up for Van Persie - like he said earlier in the summer, "if something was to happen to Robin, we'd need Rooney then" - then this is a bit of a dick move by United. The lad isn't after more money, he just wants to be playing a lot and in his preferred position as striker.S wrote:Manchester United have taken the top-level decision that Wayne Rooney will not be sold to Chelsea no matter how much money is offered or whatever the potential risks of keeping an unhappy player. Re: Wayne Rooney transfer saga
it's about not giving into a player, oh I wanna go play for Chelsea now, ya well to bad you have a contract you signed when you wanted more money and the club gave it to you, so honour it. you win trophies and make a shit ton of money...nobody is going to feel bad for you...and there is no reason to want to leave.

Re: Wayne Rooney transfer saga
Sure there's reason to leave if he wants to play more, but other than that I'm all for honoring contracts. I just don't totally get why United are so very reluctant to let him leave.

Re: Wayne Rooney transfer saga
Well its quite similar to the Pool-Suarez situation really. Why would United strengthen a direct rival ? Absolutely no reason to do so.And i dont put much weight into the Arsenal rumors.Chelsea are the only club with concrete interest and its totally a sensible decision to not let him go there.Art Morte wrote:Sure there's reason to leave if he wants to play more, but other than that I'm all for honoring contracts. You cant blame United for not letting him go to Chelsea.
