Pretty obvious why Pep wants him though.... Bayern have a lot of midfielders but none are playmakers in the way Pep see's it.

Moving Martinez into defence, Buying Thiago and Gotze and selling Gomez means the squad is just as strong as last year but more suited to Pep while keeping the DNA of what made Bayern great last year.

Its a scary prospect.

Saying someone can play a position is jot confirmation that they will play that position exclusively. While I recognize bayern's cbs are their weak links, I think guardiola will play martinez where he can make the most use of him: in midfield.

Nah but I think its pretty obvious they will at least until Lewa comes.

They wouldn't be risking it with Mandzukic as their only CF if the plan wasn't to use a false 9.

Not to mention Pep hinting at Martinez at CB and buying Thiago all the signs point towards it.

Javi Martinez wasn't all that good at CB with Bilbao tbh. He was ok.... but nothing that special. It would be kind of a waste to move him imo. He's doing really well in the midfield.
